Solved the unbalanced problem - open the top of the machine (press in with a flat putty knife about 3" in on the front on each side while lifting up as there are 2- 1" wide catches). Once both sides are unlatched, raise the lid then slightly lift the rear of the lid so that it fits into the curved part at the top of the hinges then open all the way - tape the lid to the top so it doesn't flap about and scotch the lid to keep it from falling back down on you. Now, look around - see all that rust?  The rust has fallen into and gotten underneath one or more of the 4 white plastic suspension "ball joints" which have probably totally dried out by now from their factory grease because of the water, bleach, and rust particles.  Having someone help you, simply lift up on one of the 4 corner suspension rods - gravity and weight is all that holds them down. The white ball will lift out of the socket and still be attached to the rod. Clean out the rust, lightly sand the "socket" with emery cloth, then slop in a fingerful of grease. I used automotive wheel bearing grease with graphite in it. Also scrub off all embedded rust on the white plastic ball. Lower that corner back into the newly cleaned and greased socket and repeat for the other 3 corners. Now when you move the tub around notice how the balls pivot in their sockets like they are supposed to. When they were dry and rusty they wouldn't move enough to allow the tub to twist like it should so it slammed around.  Now, shake your head in disgust that after only 2 years there is so much rust that you wonder if it will make it another year before falling apart, close the lid, and try another load.  That totally solved my off-balance problem where even a single handkerchief would give the UL error. It is still a finicky machine, but at least once again works like it did when new.

JUST SPOKE WITH WHIRLPOOL ABOUT THE F-50 CODE. THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE PAYING TO FIX IT. ALSO THE CONTROLL BOARD AND THE RPS SENSOR MUST BE REPLACED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER MUST CALL WHIRLPOOL, NOT THE TECH, TO GET THEM TO PAY FOR IT. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Cabrio Washer LD error code

I have a Cabrio washer and have been getting LD error. I took the pump out and the water came gushing out , the hose is free and clear so there are no plugs, but when I have it drain and rince, the hose jerks once but no water comes out, then the LD error comes back.

Is there water in the bottom of the tub? If yes then open back of washer and remove drain pump (on left side) and pull off of tub and clear whatever is blocking its impeller.
If the water is all gone and drained but pump stays on for several minutes and then gives "LD" fault then open back and check the small clear tube that is attached to the tub. Make sure is not blocked with debris and check tube and tub for anything that could block the small clear tube. If these are ok then remove 3 screws in back of the control panel, pull open control panel and check the clear tub all the way up from the tub to the washer controller board (computer) make sure it is not kinked or disconnected. If not then the problem is most likely the pressure sensor on the (computer). This unit will have to be replaced.
You can test the sensor by doing the following: 1. When the "LD" fault comes on start by pressing the pause button. then pull the clear tube off of the computer board. Then attach a tight fitting drinking straw over the sensor. Press the start button and wait for 60 seconds - If the washer does not start the spin cycle on its own after the 60 seconds then **** on the drinking straw that you attached to the pressure sensor earlier. The sucking action should reset the sensor thus telling the computer that the water is drained and it will start the spin cycle. Just remember if you have to do this to get the washer to spin - that means the sensor is damaged most likely from moisture traveling up the tube over time. The computer board will need to be replaced. I believe it costs $205 without shipping. Hope this helps.

F1 Error Code On Whirlpool Cabrio

Same old issue, F1 error code. I emailed Whirlpool, they wanted more info from me. I responded and they never responded to the email reply. Called them on telephone and started to get run around. I purchased extended warranty and the minute I spoke about a petition and Class Action about the poor workmanship and representation, I have a service call this week. I asked the lady if this remedy will fix the issue or will I be calling her back in a few weeks with the same issue? She could not answer my question. I will post my results after the service call. Thanks Jim

There is no "filter" on the washer. There is, however, a drain pump that can accumulate debris and need to be cleaned out. In fact, if this is a Cabrio, there are two pumps. The following link explains how to access them and check them for obstructions:

If you have questions about this repair, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: Make sure you check all drain hoses as well.

I have a whirlpool Cabrio, what does LF error code

I have a whirlpool Cabrio, what does LF error code mean and how do i fix it??

Answer

The LF error is a water supply fault. Both water supplies must be connected and fully opened. The inlet hoses and valves both have strainers that may need cleaning as this could obstruct the water flow and also check that you don't have any water leaks. The unit requires a minimum water pressure to operate so anything that could prevent the unit getting this pressure will cause this fault. Hope this helps you out!

my Whirlpool Cabrio washer won't start when

my Whirlpool Cabrio washer won't start when pushing the start button...I do have power to the washer.

The Start button is broken, the user interface board is not working, or the machine/motor control board is out. Perform the diagnostic test to verify all machine functions. The Start button is indeed broken if machine functions work fine during the diagnostic test.

Put the machine in standby mode by plugging it in with all indicators off, or with only the Clothes Clean or Done indicator on. Select any one button except POWER, START, and STOP then follow the steps below, using the same button.

Press/hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press/hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds then press/hold for 3 seconds and release. All indicators on the console will be lit for 5 seconds with 88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining two-digit display to indicate that the diagnostic mode has been entered successfully. If indicators do not display as described, the press/hold and release procedure may not have been performed within the time frame necessary for successful entry. Repeat the procedure and you may use another button to ensure this was not the cause.

The program then checks for saved fault codes. Post back any saved fault code for further advice. If there are no saved fault codes, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off, then turn back on with 88 displayed and after 5 seconds, the diagnostic test begins with C0 displayed and the lid may be opened. Press the same button used in activating the diagnostic test above to advance through automatic test steps. Allow step C1 to complete before advancing to the next steps. Post back the result fro further troubleshooting advice.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Error code 5d/Sd means suds have been detected. To solve this problem you have to take the bottom front panel apart and then clean the drain filter pump assembly completely, make sure the washer is unplugged before working on it. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Error codes for WTW5550XW whirlpool cabrio
It would appear that no one read your original post, I believe you asked: HOW DO IT GET THE ERROR CODE. I have the same machine and had the same problem. The method is descibed in the service manual available at servicemanuals.net for about $17. It also has a decent wiring diagram and how to generally do anything the local service guy could do well worth the money for a download you can have in your hands in minutes.
Back to your question.1) turn the washer off (the power button) all the indicator lights should be off.
(now think of your old gym locker combination lock, cause it will be a little like this)
2a) rotate the center selector knob CCW (counter clockwise a few clicks), this seems to get the machines attention
2b) immediately rotate 1 click CW clockwise
2c) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
2d) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
2e) immediately rotate 1 click CCW
2f) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
visually it would look like this <---,->,->,->,<-,->
now just the led's below the indicator should be blinking off and on on about 1 second intervals
you may need to try a few times to get the timing just right, you aren't spining through the clicks, just about enough time to say "left-left-left-right one,right-two,right three, left one, right one
with all the led's in a row blinking you are ready to go into code mode.
(sensing soak wash rinse spin done) (mine doesn't have soak BTW)
3) rotate the selector knob a few clicks until only the "done" led is lit
4) press start
5) the led's should blink again
which leds blink tells you alternately the fault# and error# when the "sensing" led is blinking, the other leds are indicating the fault number, when it is not on, the indicate the error# the fault# is the type of problem, and the error# indicates where the problem was detected.
6) a partial listing using the fault #, I will indicate the led as follows: Sensing/Wash/Rinse/Spin/Done
S/W/R/S/D this would be all these leds lit
s/w/r/s/d this would be all these leds off
the F# codes to the right is what you would see if you had the numeric display on the console (not all models)
Here goes:
Over suds condition: S/w/r/s/d F0
High water temp rinse cycle: S/w/r/s/d F0
Off balance load: S/w/r/s/d F0
Main control fault: S/w/r/s/D F1
Motor control fault: S/w/r/s/D F1
Stuck key: S/w/r/S/d F2
Mismatch of main control UI: S/w/r/S/d F2
Pressure sensor fault: S/w/r/S/D F3
Inlet water temp fault: S/w/r/S/D F3
Lid switch fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid lock fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid unlock fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid not opened between cycles: S/w/R/s/D F5
Basket speed sensor fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Shifter fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Motor fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Motor unable to reach target rpm:S/w/R/S/D F7
No fill long fill: S/W/r/s/d F8
Overflow: S/W/r/s/d F8
Hot cold reversed: S/W/r/s/d F8
Long drain: S/W/r/s/D F9
yes several of these had identical blinking light combinations, but it is good start.
