I have the Rival Type

Your crock pot's internal thermostat is shot. The cost of a repair would be more than a replacement. Go out and get a new one and enjoy it. J.

I would head on over to the Home Depot and just by a cupboard knob that suits your taste. Your other choice is to spend the day-light hours searching thrift store in the lids bin. Good Luck Jim.

I was wondering do I need to use water in the base

If they were MY meatballs, I would use just a tiny bit of water--no more than 1/2 a cup, just to retain moisture and keep it from burning.

Dear Rival, A while ago i bought a Rival

Before answering this I need to point out FixYa has no connection of any kind to the manufacturer of your product.

You have two basic choices: contact the manufacturer directly via this link, or you can contact the UK retailer as the product will be covered by the Sale of Goods Act.

In practice, posting your crock pot back to the UK retailer for refund or replacement will probably be prohibitive, so the manufacturer's website is the best option. Unfortunately this model seems to have a real problem with handles breaking and lids shattering.

If you find that the company does not respond to emails via their support page, then the website owner details are as follows:-

I need a replacement stoneware pan for the Rival

I had the same issue and called Rival for a replacement. Unfortunately they did not have any but they did have another model the BB103 available for sale, of course a limited stock. If you are still interested in the appliance try giving them a call.

My rival crock pot base needs to be replace

Rival does not sell the cooker separately. Watch for a sale and buy a whole new pot, then you will have 3 crocks. Too many? These often sell well on EBay.

My Rival Crock Pot seems to cook a lot faster than

Probably, nothing. About 6 years ago the standards on these were changed, to increase low to 200 degrees instead of 180, high to 300. Things that took 6 hours can now take 4. If you are using older recipes, or recipes perfected in older pots, they will always overcook. You can check this by putting water in, covering, and checking with an instant read thermometer after 1 hour. If it is 200, there is nothing wrong with you or the pot.
