My hp zx5000 back light

Real easy solution please note when your laptop is open there is a little white plastic stem type switch (micro-switch). This switch controls the back light, when the computer screen is lifted into the operation view (user view) the switch provides power to the screen. Easy fix as long as the back light works just SOFTLY push the white stem down several times. This should clean off the dust which probably got under the micro-switch.If this doesn't work then your back light needs to be replaced!

No soundcard found on reinstalling xp i have no recovery disk

Did you have a look in the Device Manager? Is there any unknown device or Other device listed?
Possibly you need special drivers for your sound card if XP does not support the sound card directly.

Other XP sound troubleshooting steps can help as well.

Hi my HP Pavillion ZV5000

When the CPU overheats then it will shutdown (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down.If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

I bought a replacement hp battery for my HP

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.
