Kyocera 2550 Scans but how do I OCR?
You can find documentation form Kyocera Printers here, though it barely mentions anything about their OCR feature:
http://usa.kyoceramita.com/americas/jsp/Kyocera/home.jsp
The OCR feature is only an image quality setting, producing a more black and white high contrast image rather than a grey scale image.
I'm using our Kyoceras to email the images to a server where "send mail" processes the image and runs OCRopus, an open source Google funded OCR project, to read information from the scan.
I'm finding there are many Virtual ReScan solutions, like Kyocera's OCR feature, VRS software produces OCR optimized images, though I haven't found an open source VRS project.
Scanner password
HI there try the following.
- Open Internet Explorer
- Type in the address bar the IP address of the scanner (If you do not know this print out a status page)
- Once you have typed in the IP address you will then have the scanner configuration screen on the left you should have passwords section you will be able to change it from there.
Hope this helps you

Scanner - memory is full
A KM-2550 has 64 MB RAM built in. I believe less than 30 of it is for image storage. You may be able to lower your scan resolution.
Best solution is to add more memory. Look for a Kyocera compatible 100 pin dimm (don't buy from the manufacturer). It will read 16 MB to 256 MB sticks. You have to take out 6-8 screws holding on the part of the back the sticks out on the upper left. Make sure after installing you print a status page to make sure the memory was recognized.

The copier keeps printing the same document.
Try this...
Remove all the connection to the PC (USB, network or parallel).
Turn off the printer on the power plug for about 3-5 minutes.
This will clear all the documents sent previously.
