There is a rubber seal in the bottom of your pan that has failed. There is grease under that seal to keep the spindle that turns the paddle lubricated. If your breadmaker is still under warranty contact Cusinart to get help. If it is no longer under warranty then you could still probably order a new pan from them. If you just want to get rid of the darn thing you can always send it to me. At least that way it won't end up in a landfill. You can reach me at [email protected]

Hold down the start button for a few seconds. That should reset it....:)
