My LG Wahining machine is making a rattling noise and will not spin or drain.

For the washer to spin, it must first drain the water out of the tub. Since you are hearing a rattling noise, and your washer will not drain, most likely the problem is the drain motor itself. The impeller wears out on the shaft, and start to wobble, and make a vibrating/rattling noise.

Drum willnot move on start.it just thumps

If the washer won't agitate the stator assembly at the back of the washer tub might be bad or damaged. The rotor is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the rotor fails or is damaged the washer might not spin or agitate. Check the rotor for damaged magnets or other defects.

Washing machine making funny noise and will not drain.

If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. It's also common for a small sock or other article of clothing to get caught in the drain pump preventing the impeller from turning, or in the drain hose. Check both for an obstruction before replacing the pump.

LG Front loading washer is noisy in spin cycle.

K this is a very complex job because it sounds like you may have coins (money) that has fallen between the gap. If this is the case, then the only way is to open up the back panel and look for it. However, I would not recommend doing it as the warranty will be void if you do. Now the stupid thing about this is a service tech will charge if it is coins lol. If it\'s the machine itself then it will be free provided it is still under warranty. Good luck!

How do I clean the pump filter

HI THERE, Unplug machine for 5 minutes for a reset and try a spin /drain cycle. It is too simple but why not try. Now that your hopes of an easy fix are shot unplug machine and let the fun begin. The screen is located behind a door at the bottom of the left front of washer. Open door. Remove door. Grab a good size shallow pan and a large rag. Pull plug to drain machine. Once water is out remove screen - it is part of the round knob in that area. Some water will come with it. Clean screen. I use acid to remove build up on the screen from well water. Inspect entire area. A small dental mirror can be helpful. Junk can get caught up in impeller to pump. I had a shaft break on mine and had to replace pump about two months ago - $40,00. Remember something is stopping the water. If filter / screen was really full and you found something plugging the drain - Replace filter / screen and hose plug. Plug in to wall and try a rinse and spin. Hint if water will not drain from hose. pull machine away from wall lean it back against wall. This will hopefully allow you to open screen filter to remove it. I had a plugged hose once. it was a pain to do. I could not tilt my machine because of space. I used a shop vac to drain filter by slowly opening the filter / screen. I was able to then with a wire remove clog from hose. If things are really bad you can tilt machine and reach up under machine and pull small drain hose. IF YOU TO REMOVE PUMP - YOU TUBE. TRY TO REMOVE IT FROM UNDERNEATH. IF YOU CANT, THE HARDEST PART IS THE TUBE GASKET SPRING. VISE GRIP NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND ANOTHER REGULAR NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS WORK WELL. I SECOND SET OF HANDS WITH A UNDERSTANDING MIND ARE MUCH NEEDED. IT IS JUST MACHINE - IT HAS NO SOUL- OR FEELINGS. YOU CAN SCREAM AT IT ALL DAY. EMMY THE HARDEST PART IS THE SPRING ON

My LG Front Load washing machine is making a grinding noise on spin cycle I believe it is coming from the motor

Hello. The noise you are hearing on spin is a failed basket support bearing. Depending on the model, you are looking at a cost of a professional to repair it of around $400+. If you do it yourself, around $200. This is a common failure on LG washers.

The door wont lock and the buttons wont work

Morgan, 1. unplug machine and let it reset. I spoke with a parts supplier who set it could take up to 3 hrs. 2. this was our fix - check door latch. it needs to send a closed signal to operate. un plug machine - remove top - i would try to lightly spray switch with WD-40 - plug in and try it. if it does't work -unplug it again -replace switch . If WD-40 works I would pick up a switch it is only a matter of time for that switch. I hope that does it. Emmy

That is not normal. Have the control circuit board tested for continuity. Either the cycle or timer section is out of wack and may need replacing.
