LG LFX25960ST Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Page 2 Questions & Answers
LG LFX25960ST refrigerator food freezing above the
I have the same problem and I know the solution.
For LG to get their "in the door icemaker" to work,
they have to blow cold air into the door's icemaker compartment. This air
travels through two vents located just inside the refrigerator on the left
side. The problem LG has is that the seals between the door and the
refrigerator for these vents leak. This means that cold air is vented into the
refrigerator compartment. Any sensitive food placed on the bottom two shelf on
the left side will freeze. I can place two bowls of water in my refrigerator
and make ice in 6 hours, even though the refrigerator is set to 38 degrees. The
good thing is that LG knows there is a design problem and they know they can
not fix it. After calling LG repairmen out for my freezing problem and not
getting the seals fixed, LG gave up. Of course LG will try replacing the seals,
and then replacing the door; but the real problem is a bad seal design. Just
keep putting bowls in your refrigerator and as long as they continue to freeze
up, keep calling LG back and demand that they fix the problem. LG can not fix
the problem because it is a bad design, so now I am getting a new refrigerator
Model LFX 29927, which is better and has dual icemakers. If you an LG refrigerator with their in the door icemaker, place two bowls
of water inside the refrigerator, and if your seals are bad and they freeze;
complain to LG until they give you a new refrigerator.
The internal lightbulb stays on when door is closed & has melted the light cover. How do I fix this problem?
I would say the light switch is stuck or "welded" contacts. In my ge, the light switch is in the upper part so that the switch moves up into the upper right surface when the upper right part of shelf slides against this switch. The sliding part of the switch may be dirty or perhaps broken off. so the switch stays on all the time. My freezer side has the same switch arrangement. Look at your freezer side to see what the switch looks like and how it is supposed to work. Appliance parts sites usually have parts and instructions for how to replace.
How do I reset the display panel on a French door LFX25960?
To reset is to repair, this error message it telling you that your Ice Fan is probably not running which is contained in the freezer behind the extra large bulge on the top left freezer evap cover. The fan has failed due to either normal failure, or it's iced over. Usually they become iced over as a result of other issues in the freezer compartment. A qualified service tech is recommended looking at the unit to see if there is a clogged defrost drain issue, an overall defrosting issue, that the freezer evap cover has not been substituted with a newer designed one, (which there are several updates). You should pull the plug on the unit, leave all doors open for a solid 24 hours to ensure a full defrost of any excess ice or frost in areas you can't see, and start over. The unit will most likely resume functions without the error message if the motor was simply iced over, until it possibly returns. Pleazer Appliance...

Freezer fan is making noise so I took all food out
you need to have someone check the defrost circuit. if the unit does not defrost properly , ice will accumulate on the back panel where the evaporator is, blocking the evaporator fans completely, and the circulation fan will eventually stop working because the ice buildup contacts the blades all the fan motor, and eventually the refrigerator compartment will start to get warmer and warmer because there is no circulation of cool air.
