i got digi 001 running on windows 7...
i left my xp on hard disk while installing win 7. it kept xp on folder windows.old folder. in control panel i saw digi as multimedia adapter wich system couldn't recognice. hit "change settings" -> driver -> update driver
used my old windows to search for driver. it found "Dalvin.sys" driver for adapter. installed that. after that windows recogniced digi 001.
downloaded "digidesign asio 6.11" driver installer for win-xp and ran it.
and bingo - it works!
in every step windows was complaining and asking do i want to do this. just yeah'd everything. as i just had a clean install of win 7 i just thought whatta heck i can install everything again if it would not work, but it did.

so in a nut shell:
1: install Dalvin.sys in control panel for digi 001
2: run digidesign asio 6.11 driver installer for win-xp

for me it worked but i absolutely take no responsibility if you mess your system with this! at least reaper got a sound out of it. i haven't tried to record anything yet. but asio settings seemed to work as they used to do in xp.

When you say a session is it opening to the login page and terminating and shutting down?or where is it stopping? Have you tried opening on safe mode? If it opens on safe mode go to control panel under users and add a user with admin rights after that log off and login with the new account and you can transfer any personal data from one profile to the new one. Once done go under control panel and delete the entire bad profile. Once completed restart. If its on windows boot, you might need a windows disk to fix.

The easy way round this is to increase the amount of RAM in your machine. I would suggest at least 3 GB and use the fastest ram you can fit (check the spec of your machine for the memory type [DDR2 or DDR3], max speed and how much ram your board will take. If your Windows OS is 64 bit you can fit the max amount your machine can handle)

They will only work when something is plugged into them.

You need Protools software before you can do anything with it. Find it here: http://shop.avid.com/store/category.do?category=protools-upgrades-new . Then connect the usb or firewire cables and you can start jammin.

You can find the latest drivers and software for your Digidesign Mbox 2 from the manufacturer's website at avid.com.

Did you remember to save the audio file folder to the disk as well as the session data? If so, are the audio files on the same disk as the Pro Tools sessions?

Welcome to Fixya. I would like to know when you connect the Protools LE on your Windows 7 computer does it tells you that it has found a new hardware or installing device driver?



It if does it only means that the Protools LE is detected however you need to install the latest driver on it. If it is not detected then try another usb port. Incase you need the driver for your Protools I've provided the link of the download page of the latest driver of Protools

Note: When you connect the device to the computer it should be detected even if you dont have the driver. You can also try to use a different USB Cable if it is possible just to check if the problem is within the cable.

I had this problem as well... If this is a 2011 macbook pro you have os 10.6.7 which is not supported by avid at this time. We actually need to down grade to 10.6.6. You installation cd with your macbook pro is 10.6.6, so you'll need to install that, then go to the avid website and download pro tool le 8.0.5. Everything should work fine just don't upgrade to 10.6.7 until it has been approved by avid. If you need detailed steps look at the avid forum for pro tools. Step to uninstalling and installing the os can be found on youtube.com... Do not have your mbox plugged in when you install pro tools. I hope this helps!!!

You have a bad A/D converter. Maybe it can be replaced, but these units are pretty cheap, and may exceed the time to research and repair. Digidesign was bought out by Avid, and they may not support the unit if you're not the original buyer.
