My TI-84 plus DOES NOT automatically insert a left

that is not so: when you press the square root key, the calculator automatically inserts the opening parenthesis (the left one). It does so for all the built-in functions. With MathPrint parentheses are not necessary because of the open boxes.the content of the box is implicitly enclosed in parentheses.

The residual list on my ti-84 calculator is not showing up after I reset the memory, what do I do?

When you reset the Memory you clear all in the RAM. Recreate your tables. If you do not want to lose something you created, archive it.

My Ti-84 plus silver is giving me wrong answer

This was asked two years ago, but if anyone finds this page maybe this will help: Instead of 1E99, try using 10^99. They have the same value but it would appear that some calculators have trouble with 1E99. It fixed it for me.

Reinstalling the OS fot the TI84Plus

How do I correct the Error Waiting...Please Install Calculator SoftwareNow message on my TI-83 Plus family or TI-84 Plus family calculator?

If an operating system (OS) update fails or is interrupted, the calculator will be in an inoperable state with the message Waiting...Please install calculator software now.The most common cause of a transfer being interrupted is updating theoperating system on a calculator with low batteries. Users will need touse the TI Connectivity cable and the TI Connect software to send theoperating system to the calculator. Make sure to have the latestversion of TI Connect installed on the computer.
In order to install the software please follow these steps:
1. Connect the TI Connectivity cable between the computer and the calculator.
2. Click on Start >> Programs >> TI Tools >> TI Connect >> TI OSDownloader
3. Follow the on-screen directions to reinstall the calculator's OS.
Ifthe message "Error! Press any key to turn unit off. Then turn unit backon." appears on the graphing calculator, quickly, remove one batteryfrom the calculator and reinstall it while the transfer is taking place.

Hope it helps.

Err Argument with binomcdf(7,0,.25,2) when trying

binomcdf() takes two or three arguments, but you're providing four. The first argument is the number of trials (7 looks good for this), the second argument is the probability (.25 looks good for this), and the optional third argument is the number of successes (2 in your case).Try binomcdf(7,.25,2)

Ti84 Plus Turns on, and turns off right away.

I had the same problem like yours. First, I reset the RAM and then it no longer turned off right away; but it responded extremely slowly. Second, I tried to install the new OS for it, but unsuccessful until I blowed really hard several times into the round connector. After that, the cursor started blinking. Finally, I downloaded the new OS into it and hoped that the problem never happen again.
You go to http://education.ti.com and follow their procedures to reset the RAM.

On the school-provided TI-84 Plus

You need to change the mode from Math Print to Classic Mode to get the multiple line display. Press Mode to open the correct menu. Use the up/down arrows to make sure that an item in the first line is highlighted (MathPrint or Classic). Use the left/right arrows to select Classic. Press Enter. If you see a line labeled Save, use the down arrow to highlight the line and press Enter again. This is briefly shown in the manual. See page 9 (page 16 of the PDF) for the menu that applies. The section is labeled Setting the Clock. The rest of the details on changing modes is on page 15 (page 22 of the PDF). Texas Instruments has the manual for the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition in their support section. Start here: https://education.ti.com/en/guidebook/search?active=guidebooks .
