How to troubleshoot remote controll
Most Yamaha receivers have a remote ID so if you have more than one Yamaha you can control one without bothering the other, do you still have your owners manual? If not have you tried the people at Yamaha they are very helpful with a problem like this but for an example I have my Remote ID set at ID1 because I do have 2 Yamaha receivers the RX-V1300 and the RX-A3020, see if you can find the section in your manual that talks about remote IDs and let me know if that fixes the problem and you can always goto http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/ but that is the site for the United States they do have sites for many countries at http://www.yamaha.com/ I’m happy to help further over the phone at

Not used for several weeks, now will not power up, no response, dead! Any ideas where to start? Merry Christmas to all
HelloThere only two reasons for this power fault to this set. Cehck them. If these two are altight, the set need service.[1] The protection circutary has been activated:Make sure that all the speaker wire connections on this unit and on all speakers are secure and that the wire for each connection does not touch anything other than its respective connection.[2] This unit ahs been exposed to a strong external electric shock (such as lightning or strong static electricity): Set this unit to standby mode, disconnect the power cable, plug it back in after 60 seconds and then try to use it normally. If these does not help you, get this set repaired by the Authorised Service Center for Yamaha at your town. OK.
How can i locate the fuse because my Yamaha RX-V659 won't power on ?
If you open the unit up you will void any warranty including extended warranty but if the unit is out of warranty you can open it up and where the power cord enters the unit you will see glass the glass fuse or fuses, you should be able to look at the fuse and see if the element is intact and you can always check it with a meter, if it is the fuse make sure to only replace it with the same fuse and you want to find out what caused the fuse to blow so check all of your speaker wires and makes sure nothing has crossed and it could have also been a power surge so if you don't have a good surge suppressor that provides
Clean Power definitely invest in one, I like the ones made by Panamax and Monster power, both companies make either strips or component ones that you can place on the shelf with your gear and the ones that have a convenience outlet on the front are great
because you never know when you need temporary power for a cam etc and this why you don't have to go digging for an outlet that is unprotected. Good luck... I’m happy to help further over the phone at

How do I troubleshoot a "check speakers" warning when they are connected properly?
Sounds like your using the YPAO to check and setup your speakers but if the speaker in question is a bipole, dipole, oe omnipole those types of speakers will fool the YPAO and you might get a result that tells your the speaker polarity is wrong, so if you are 100% sure the wires are correct then just ignore that warning. I have Ominpole speakers myself and I always get an error telling me to switch the wires and change polarity but even if I do that I get the same error so I just have to make sure the wire are hooked up right and ignore that error I’m happy to help further over the phone at

RECEIVER KEEPS SHUTTING OFF
it sounds like you have the auto power down/auto power off turned on which is diffrent from the sleep time which can only be set for two hours and the auto power down/off feature can be set for many hours and is always on unlike the sleep timer which must be set each time, you will be able to find it in the on screen menus and turn it off since it is on the moment you turn your unit on and your owners manual will explain exactly how to do it and if you dont have the manual just goto www.yamaha.com and you can download the manual for free. please let me know if that was the problem I’m happy to help further over the phone at
