You can buuy spools already wound with string or restring the spool you have. When you look at the head you should see two orange buttons, press them and lift the cover off the spool sits inside. Replace with a new one or restrung one running the end out the hole. Replace cover and you are ready to go.

I have the same problem, same model, but that mine is a 14" model.
Any solutions?

This is for the Black and Decker GH1000 string trimmer. There are 20 screws to remove altogether. The last screw is under the black label with instructions on using the button to extend the shaft. The screw hole is just above the white line on the label-you have to poke a hole in the label! Very tricky!

Have a problem with your B&D GH600 trimmer? Replace part LEVER, Item #29, Part #598435-00 for about $3.00 (B&D or Dewalt). Just pull old level straight out with pliers (ends expand to hold it in place) and push replacement in. No other parts.

It is ok to leave it plugged in. It said that in my direction and on my charger itself. I had my grass hog for about 5 years and I always keep my plugged in.

you may simply put cable on the wrong way round

check out a white plastic lever at the back of the spool line. if its broken then replace it. cost of the parts around $4.00 or so. this parts controls the auto feed of the spool

you didnt say how old the item is if its under a year old take it back to the shop

take the battery off the trimer its at the top off the trimer ann snap it into your battery charger plug it into the wall electical outlet

if you threaded it you prabably cross threaded it you could buy the unit factory threaded all you have to do is snap it on
