Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 DVD Camcorder - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Wont power on
Good morning Laura,
There could be several issues with the device. Firstly it is important to check the battery pack as if the device was not used recently, specifically the battery pack, then the pack may have died, in which case you would need to purchase another.
Secondly, dust, grain and other similar small particles like to work to clog up and block small crevices on devices. So make sure you give the Handycam a quick but thorough wipe down ensuring you pay special attention to the battery area. I would suggest you and it is probably logical to remove the battery pack and wipe both the Handycam and Battery pack seperately.
I hope this has helped,
Cheers,

Error Message E:61
Error code E:61 indicates a problem in the focus mechanism.
The most likely cause for this is a zoom or focus lens out of place or impaired in some way. This will require disassembling the camera to remove the lens assembly and then disassembling the lens block to repair. This can be done fairly inexpensively but it's not really a user serviceable problem and should be repaired by a qualified service technician.
