ViewSonic VG2030wm LCD Monitor Questions & Answers
Monitor comes on but the screen gets dark after a 3 sec
if the power indicator at the front panel stay lit but no screen display or black screen, it could be a sign of bad power inverter board or screen back light. now to ensure if it was the cause you can do a voltage checking, at this time you will need a digital tester. you need to know if their is a bl_on voltage at the power inverter board around 3-4.4v to turn on the inverter board that supply the back light.if the power inverter board has 12v dc and has bL_ON voltage then the cause will be a bad inverter board. you must check also for a dry joint connector going to back light.

Monitor screen go's black, i
It can be bad caps, bad backlights assembly, cold solder joints, etc.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

ViewSonic VG2030wm speakers not working
you are unable to get an image on your ViewSonic monitor, first check
that the necessary cables are attached correctly and that the proper
drivers are installed. ViewSonic offers drivers for download directly
through its website (see Resources).
Some LCD monitors use a
VGA input while others take advantage of the newer DVI interface to
provide a connection to PCs (some ViewSonic monitors offer both types).
When connecting your monitor for the first time, you'll need the right
type of cable for both your monitor and computer. In some cases an
adapter may be necessary to convert the DVI signal from your monitor to
work in a VGA input on your PC.
Check that the VGA or DVI
cable is tightly attached to the back of your monitor and to the back
of your PC. Use the small thumb screws on the ends of the connectors to
keep everything tightened in place, which will prevent the cable from
getting loose.
ViewSonic monitors also use a power cable to
plug into a power source. If the power light does not comes on, check
that the power cable is inserted fully into the back of the monitor and
that it is plugged into a working wall outlet or a reliable surge
protector.

Monitor says No signal digital
Is ether the monitor or video card uses both DVI or VGA port. There may be a switch on the graphic card that changes it from DVI to VGA, often outside the card.
Also is the computer monitor set to the right setting if it can use both VGA and DVI, if using DVI (of any type) it need to switch to digital, and if using VGA it need to be set to analog. This may be a physical switch or using the settings button. (see manual how to change them)
PS: VGA port is a blue D shaped port with 15 pin holes, and DVI is a white rectangle port with one port being a line.

Unable to have 1280x768 full screen with DVI cable
Use the menu button on the monitor itself to adjust for the screen size in DVI mode.
On your SVGA adapter, go to your display properties (right click on desktop) click ADVANCED and change the refresh rate to fix the first problem mentioned.
