since i do my stuff by trial and error, sometimes its just a matter of making sure you dont have a video cord plugged into an audio plug that is supposed to be for the tv signal to go out and not come in or that where you have the left/right audio plug is good, but the video plug is broke.

i just move from one slot to the next trying different a/v (out) spots

If plug in cord Google or in North America try MCM electronics, if a soldered in cord they are generic.

I have a 32'' Sova LCD tv with the same problem. The problem maybe your power supply. In my case, it was the power supply (no.# YHi 090-02180-13) it had no voltage out put, no blue light and no working fan. Remove the power supply and take it to your local repair center and check it for voltage out put. I found it difficult to locate the same power supply after the decision not to repair mine. There is an alternative I found on ebay, it doesn't look the same, but all the spec checks out. I had this power supply for two days and my tv work great so far so good.

I have never heard of this brand 'SOBA' before, so the service manual may be hard to come by.
Common problem in ALL LCD flat panel are due to bad DC filter caps in the power supply module, that will be the first place to look. Right now your 5vdc standby power suuply is working but not the 12vdc for sound and the 24vdc for the backlight. These two power supply sections may have bad caps or failed circuits, or it goes into shutdown due to shorted circuits in the backlight circuits.

It would be really tough to get a remote for this model. Either you could buy a universal remote which could be programmed from tho TV or you need to contact the manufacturer directly. Regarding the universal remote, you could buy it from any of the nearby TV parts shop or radioshack. However,make sure that the universal remote you buy could be programmed with your TV.
