Error message. 924.01 service BEWARE SPAM NUMBER 1-800-532-4187

The 924.01 service fuser error indicates either the fuser unit is not able to reach/maintain the correct temperature or the fuser unit is not working. What you can do:
  • Turn off printer. Turn on after 30 seconds.
  • Plug printer straight to power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge devices or power strips, they draw away power from the printer.

If problem continues, contact Lexmark technical support(under warranty) or your local authorized service provider for professional repair.

Passwords add a level of security to your computer. When sharing a computer with others, your customized settings, computer programs, and system resources are more secure when you assign a password to your logon name or user account name. The steps to perform this task differ depending on whether your computer is a member of a network domain or is part of a workgroup (or is a stand-alone computer). My computer is on a domain You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure. Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. How to delete unwanted Shortcut

If the printer is connected to a network, type the IP address of your printer on the address bar of your web browser. On the printers web interface, click on Configuration and select Security. Click on Function access and select a specific function of the printer, click the drop down button and select function disabled and the click submit.

You may also use the printer operator panel. Click on Menu button >Settings > General Settings> Home Screen customization > select the specific function and select do not display and click on submit.

My company lexmark X642e all

Make sure you plugged it back into the right port on the printer itself. The one I have actually has two different phone line plug-in ports - one is for the FAX line that connects to the wall. The other is so you can attach a separte phone as an extention to talk on. Good luck. Also, after it is plugged back into the wall, did you power down, wait 30 seconds and then power back on? Sometimes these things need to recognize at start up whether or not they are connected to other devices, etc. Good luck.

It possible that this is a bad modem, try turning off printer and unplug fax. If you are getting same error message, you need to get a replacement of the modem card.

Have you tried a different cartridge? Was there much spilled toner inside the printer? If you go into menus, and then help menu you can print a print defect guide that you can line up on your print and it will tell you exactly which part is causing the issue.
