start my webcam using the [Alt] - [F7] shortcut mentioned in the software's help pages

Under Power Options change the power Scheme to "Minimal Power Management" and I m sure the issue should be resolved. Thanks.

In this case the problem may be divided in to two 1. Hardware related 2. Software related.
If it is a hardware related issue, you must use a air pump to clear the air vents in the laptop. Sometimes dust accumulation may cause your laptop to overheat and turn off. If this does not work, then probably you must try to run a diagnostics in your system. If the OS in the laptop is provided by the manufacturer then the diagnostics can be found here START--->ALL PROGRAMS--->TOSHIBA--->UTILITIES--->PC Diagnostic
If the diagnostics returns an error then related action must be taken to resolve the issue.
If it is a software related issue then try reinstalling uninstalling the latest softwares you tried to install. It may have caused a conflict in the laptop. Try to clear some hard drive place and reduce the number of simultaneous processes the system is running. Sometimes the system cannot handle multiple processes which causes strain on the processor causing the laptop to overheat or seize functioning temporarily.
If not the last option would be to go for a complete PC restore to take back the laptop to its factory settings before which all the data in the system should be backed up.

Hi. Turn the computer on and press F8 when you see the toshiba screen. Select safemode then press enter. open the System Config Utility (msconfig) by pressing Start, Run (XP), or type the word msconfig then press enter for Vista.

Disable all start up items and restart your machine... See if it starts and boots to windows.

Please mention make and model number of your laptop. There should be an icon on your desktop for the webcam, if not try checking in your device manager to see if it is enabled..go to control panel>system>hardware>device manager It should be under the imaging devices

Have you tried installing the latest Chicony Webcam driver software from your Toshiba product home page?
latest is version 1.7.231.1126
Download it, right click the file - select compatibility tab and check the following settings

then hit ok and install as usual

First check wheather battery is dead . Charge it completely and also check the lights while charging.

If you think its battery issue try the following remove the battery and then press the power on button, it help release and electricity left then place the batter back . and Power it on.
If the lights just blink then...press and hold the battery button for force a shut down then power it back on.

This is not a software issue but more of a hardware fault - the battery and charging circuit all rechargeable batteries laptop ones get to become useless after x amount of charges. What is the battery condition? Do you get sufficient charge remaining for atleast 1 hour? Or also it may be overheating due to insufficient ventilation.

This is a feature in newer laptops, to protect the files on a "stolen" laptop from being accessed by the thief.

If you have set a password, enter the password.

If you have not set a password, did one of your friends/family set a password?

If no password has been set, turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.

Most laptop battery can be normal used in 400-500 charge and discharge cycles, in another word, a laptop battery should be normal in 2 year.
maybe your laptop battery is dead....
you should buy a new one.

It is most likely coming from your power adapter (Power Pack). Have a good electrician check it out for you or replace the power adapter with a good one

Did you mean if Toshiba Satellite A205-S4617 integrated Microphone? If so, then the answer is no, the Laptop is not included or integrated with any microphone on it (not built on microphone).

but you can still use microphone as an audio input, by purchasing external microphone.

Flat / faulty battery or charger. Have charger checked.

check the device manager to make sure the device is enabled. otherwise check the toshiba website for a hotkey for powering the camera on or off

Have you locked yourself out of the User account? you can reset the password if you have a administrator's login. If not you might need to reinstall the OS unless you have the right administrative tools.

Reload the web cam drivers from the Toshiba Utilities Program or the Toshiba Drivers file. You may need to go to Toshiba's web site and download the latest driver and install it.

the computer shutdowns becuase the cpu is getting to hot, a failsafe4 is the fan spinning, sometimes something can get inside the fan to prevent if from spinning, in that case check to make sure there is nothing in it try unscrewing the plastic that covers the fan and check if its fully plugged and nothing is blocking it from spinning

power from adapter no capable to supply and need more wattage or change adapter with higher amperage. but still you need to change new battery.
