Amana Refridgerator won't dispense water or make ice.
- Hi: You did your homework and checked everything. You said you checked the water flow to the refrigerator, and it was fine. Although what you described sounds like no or low water flow to the solenoid. I'm referring to the valve the water line is connected to. When they "rattle" it means there is not enough or no water pressure keep them open. These valves usually have a gravel filter. As you say it's a scratch and dent. The filter may clogged with gravel, or mildew (as it sat unused as a scratch and dent for who knows how long.) You sound handy. Before I replace that valve I would remove it and look where the inlet water is attached. Usually there is a screen behind a cap you will have to unscrew the size of an garden hose cap. See if there is a screen that can be cleaned. I'll lind the Sears parts direct page to you with the part no. #10 on the diagram. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=AFD2535DEB&productCategoryId=0161000&brandId=1268&modelName=AMANA-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00012&componentDescription=CABINET BACK&documentId=M0705005&backToLink=Return to Sub Components list The clogged screen would make the valve vibrate like you described. I hope this helps, Jeff

Amana afd2535deb Frig- freezer works fine but frig doesn't cool
Hi,
Start out with the easy stuff first...make sure the lights go out when you close the door(s), make sure the doors are closing properly and the gaskets are closing fully and not torn. Check to make sure the evaporator fan in the freezer is working, this fan blows the cold air around. If the fan is not working, possible bad fan motor - check for power to the fan motor and also check the fan switches around the door openings, ( if your fridge has these switches, not all do ). A common problem cropping up in the last several years has been the air damper not opening up and allowing the cold air from the freezer to be blown into the fresh food section ( mostly on SxS refrigerators )
Also please read through the suggestion in the webiste provided bellow:

Thank You

No Cols - Temperature Controls do not respond - LED display shows a dash "-"
pencj,
My honest answer is that I have seen this before and in most cases the board works properly after the reboot.
Although you may not have lost power, you may have gotten a voltage spike. I would cancel the service man coming out, (I am a working service man myself) he probably will give you two options. #1 Wait to see if this happens again and if it does happen again soon, the board should be replaced. #2 replace the board now.
My suggestion is to soon go purchase a surge suppressor to plug into. This does not need to be a power strip style. A good quality suppressor that only has one or 2 plug in's or plugs directly into the wall receptacle should do fine. Your refrigerators maximum amp draw is listed on the model # sticker inside the refrigerator compartment.
I hope this helps, supertechks

Afd2535des not cooling in any department, when I opened the doors, the lights work and the led temp control lights up. I hear a fan start and 5 seconds later the fan stops n leds shut off.
- Check the thermostat: Make sure the thermostat is set to a temperature that is low enough to cool the refrigerator. If the thermostat is not working properly, it may need to be replaced.
- Check the condenser coils: The condenser coils on the back of the refrigerator should be clean and free of dust and debris. If the coils are dirty, the refrigerator will not be able to cool properly. Use a vacuum cleaner or a brush to clean the coils.
- Check the fan motor: If the fan motor is not running, the refrigerator will not be able to cool properly. Check if the fan motor is receiving power and if it's spinning freely. If the fan motor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
- Check the start relay: The start relay helps the compressor start up. If the start relay is faulty, the compressor may not start and the refrigerator will not be able to cool properly. If the start relay is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
- Check the compressor: If the compressor is not working, the refrigerator will not be able to cool properly. Check if the compressor is receiving power and if it's running. If the compressor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.

No power to Amana ice and water dispenser. Rest of refer runs fine.
It's possible that the issue could be with a micro switch located on the ice maker cabinet that is activated when the prong on the back of the ice/auger tray is inserted. It's also possible that there could be another issue with the dispenser, such as a problem with the wiring or a malfunctioning component. I would recommend checking the wiring and testing any other micro switches or components that are related to the dispenser to see if they are functioning properly. If you are unsure how to do this, I would recommend consulting the user manual or contacting a qualified technician for further assistance.
