I suggest get help with repairman.6 year old is not very old.Refrigerators have life more then 8 to 10 years.The problem can be temperature not set properly or any of fridge or freezer door not closed properly and cool air is getting leaked out. These are basic possibilities which first need to be checked. But if these possibilities are checked ok and still the problem is same, then its weak compressor issue. Your model ASD2622HR has a dual warer located in Rear Secrion of => Dual Warer_Contnrol_Valve=> ASD2622HR Backside components.
are on different lines the side with dispense ice fails to drop. Here is very likely the problem is the water valve is allowing water to by-pass the valve even off. I will be here should you have questions, If helpful please rate my assistance, Thank You Sea Breeze

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid. Crushed ice is the default position and the solenoid is energized to cube ice.
Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.

Hello,
On the top left corner of the fresh food (ref) section is damper door that opens and closes to let cold air into the the fresh food compartment when it needs cold air. That damper is stuck open letting in air all the time,that damper needs to be replaced. This is the part number for it 12571701 it could be purchased from your local appliance parts store or online at;

The water in the door is controlled by the switch you push for water which opens the valve which is the water inlet valve on the rear of the fridge/freezer. It's where your water supply connects to the fridge on back. Yours is sticking open sometimes causing your problem. You need to replace the dual water inlet valve. Part 14 on this Diagram and parts list is your dual water inlet valve.

The noise is most likely coming from the ice maker as the paddles are pushing the ice cubes from the ice maker into the holding bin. They do not move very quickly and can cause this sound. hope this helps.

What tends to happen is that service techs have certain common generic parts in their van, and rather than ordering a part to fit and have a return visit, they fit what they have. Install Water Filtration Cartridge (some
models)
a. Remove bypass cartridge from water filter head in rear
right corner of refrigerator section. Twist cartridge
counterclockwise 1/4 turn and pull down to remove.
Save bypass for use at a later date.
b. See Water Filtration System Installation and
Operating Instructions provided with water filter
cartridge for filter installation and operation.

Sharla, It could possibly be the ice maker rod that tells the ice maker whether it's full or not. If it's in the down position it wants to make ice and it'll make a clicking noise. Lift the rod up if it's down. Hopefully this helps!? Best to you.
