Creative Zen V Won't Charge, Won't be Recognized, Etc.
Hey; I just had the same problem with my player; I uninstalled Windows media player 11 (brought it back to ten). Then I formatted my player, (You do this by unplugging it from the computer, then you turn off the player, and then you press the play button while also powering your player on, once you see the creative labs logo release the play button, a screen will appear, select format, then yes (it will delete all of your information on the player) then once you are done formatting select reboot. Once it's done rebooting connect it to your computer! It fixed the problem for me!

When i turn the player
Back up all your music first. Then hold down the play button and power on your device. This should enter it into a recovery screen for factory settings.
