I installed a new magnetic seal on my Amana
No. Never heard of this happening. Make sure that the door stop at the bottom hinge is not bent and keeping the door from shutting all the way. I've seen this alot. Also, if you soak the gasket in hot water for 15 minutes or so, it will soften it up and lay flat when you install it.
The freezer is not working properly. Measured temp
Check for any frost on the inside, probably the back, of the freezer compartment. If there is any, either the defrost heater, defrost timer or defrost termination thermostat is bad. Need your model # to continue.
The freezer temp is zero max, it won't go colder,
remove the cover to the evaporator in the freezer compartment and see if the evaporator coil if partially covered with ice build-up, if so defrost it,clean the evaporator and condenser coils of dirt and dust and try it again, also make sure the door seal in both compartments is good and not leaking warm air into compartments,as this will condense and make ice build-up,if this happens again after these ideas, then check and make sure the defrost system is functioning properly

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use
and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater
comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost
drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the
freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.
Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end
because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the
evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it.
Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing
it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent
refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the
lower back of the freezer.
It's not cold and there is a clicking noise every
As long as it is doing that I think you better unplug to prevent damage to the internal overload. The start relay, start capacitor and external overload may need replaced. We need to check the compressor windings also before you purchase. Most times it is those parts I listed above and sometimes the compressors age and condition are factors to consider. I will walk you through this if you like, Thanks, Sea Breeze
HI, our Amana ice maker produces only a shell of
you are having a problem with not enough water getting into the ice maker.
we call this getting "hollow cubes"
you have to clear or replace the valve that connects to your house water line. most are whats known as a "piercing type" valve. they get plugged or break into the water line of your house.
you can try to shut off the valve and then turn back on and see if you get full size cubes after that.
most likely you will have to replace the valve with a "drill type" of valve from your local hardware store.
this is very common and the new valve will fix your problem.
Bottom portion of fridge not getting any cold air
hi ,
your freezer cabinet need to get all out and open the back wall.
- you have 2 element that can be check one is the heating element , two is the thermostat.
- you need a volt meter to check them.
- if the frost is all over the coils then one of the element i told you before, is bad
- if the frost is in one area not all over then you got gas leak.
- good luck 911service today . com

Water is leeking below the refrigerator. I cannot
There could several reasons for the water under refrigerator. Leaking water connection to water control valves. leaking defrost condensate pan or blocked condensate drain beginning inside freezer rear wall cause by ice or other gunk caught in the defrost drain line. Because leaks always happen differently on every model I will give you a page to look over and watch a small clip about fixing a refrigerator leak. One moment as I retrieve the information and links. I woke up this morning to a flooded kitchen due to
Either the switch in the ice maker is stuck keeping the valve open or the valve has stuck. Unplugging the frig will tell you which it is. If the water stops when the frig is unplugged it is the switch. If it does not then it is the valve.

I am finding water on the top shelve of the
The water is probably condensation. If you are in a humid area and the refrigerator is opened and closed often the humidity in the air will condense on the cool surfaces of the shelves and sides and will run down to the bottom of the refrigerator. If it is very old the door gasket may be deteriorated and leaking air into the refrigerator. Check it by closing the door with a dollar bill sticking out. If you can pull the bill out easily when the door is closed the gasket should be replaced.
