ASUS P5VDC-MX Motherboard - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
ASUS p5vdc-MX motherboard won't boot
The light is probably the power light which is ok, but from past experience it sounds like the board is dead for one reason or other. Is it still under warranty? If it is take it back to where you got it, with the purchase docket if you have it and talk to them about what you have tested and ask for a replacement. If it is out of warranty, try ebay or use www.staticice.com.au to search for the same motherboard if you want to rebuild the system without having to reload windows.

Ask a question. It isn't difficult, you tell us what the problem is (in as much detail as possible) and then ask us a question about your problem. We don't read minds, so if you don't tell us what you want, we can't help- CAN WE?
VGA in moderboard dont work
Install the drivers. Of use your Graphics card output. If the drivers don't help, you can get round this by installing a cheap graphics card instead of replacing the motherboard.

No sound from ASUS P5VDC-MX
If everything is OK in Device Manager, check Audio in Sound and Audio Devices under Control Panel. The Sound playback should default to Device Manager device.Plus, make Volume Controls are not muted.Last, simply check with headphones.
My P5VDC-MX got no sound
Try this
Select Global for WINXP

Ram
Your motherboard can take DDR or DDR2 RAM modules.
Crucial says: "Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a
maximum of 1GB per slot." No sense getting 4GB since the max is 2GB.
You
can get higher speed RAM (PC2-6400) because it is backward compatible.
I would go with the 2 X 1GB Corsair from the ones listed.
Or consider the options on Crucial's site. See this page:
http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=P5VDC-MX
Two 1GB modules of DDR2 PC2-5300 run about $34 US.
(PS. Your 450W power supply will handle about anything.)
I am a gamer and p5vdc-mx has only agp slot and i
Hello
I dont think there are any agp to pci ex riser cards. As pci e x16 is part of the motherboard circutry.
There are pci to agp riser cards. If your going to be playing some of the latest games. Most games in the past 3 yrs require a pci x16 vid card.
I suggest geting another motherboard,chipset,and memory.Along with a Pci e x 16 card min 512mb.
Do I need to buy 2 DDR2 Ram for my ASUS P5VDC-MX Motherboard?
with rams, if the memory it has is higher than that of your cpu, the pc will not boot up or if it is too low compared to your cpu again.
thus, you say it has got two slots right, remove both of the 512's and insert the 1gig only, run your computer, i am sure it will boot up nicely. switch it off. put one 512, if it does not boot then you should know that your ram has an excess of memory that your cpu could not apprehend to.
post a coment if this does not work.
thanks,
wonder
