On the mother board i have a bios that i need to

If your motherboard is revision 2 you can use DDR2 at 533 MHz otherwise only at 400Mhz.
To make the update you need to visit this download page and download the ASUS Update V6.10.01 from Utilies section and instal it. Check to have a version of Operating Sistem compatible with this application before installing it. If you don't have the manual you can download it from Manual section (direct link is here). On page 2-8 you can read the steps about how you can make the BIOS update. I recomend to use first method (Update BIOS from the internet) to be sure that you don't use a wrong BIOS file.

My i GB DDR2 667 MHZ RAM is showing 512 MB memory.

You should test the memory in another computer to see if it's recognized correctly.

You should also see if your motherboard will read another brand that 1gb in size.

I need changes my memory 2 pcs @ 1GB DDR1 PC3200

Number of Memory Slots: 2×184pin + 2×240pin
Memory Standard: DDR 400/DDR2 533
Maximum Memory Supported:2GB

PC6400(DDR2 800) is not supported by your motherboard. Also max memory is 2GB. PC4200 is the fastest memory you can install. There might be a BIOS update available from ASUS website to increase the speed but you would have to check the site.

My second dimm of motherboard don't work

Verify both DIMMs are the same size, speed and type. Most motherboard aren't capable of juggling different speed or size memory banks.

Try swapping the two DIMMs or reinstalling the nonfunctional DIMM in slot 0, alone, instead of in slot 1. If it does not work this way, it's probably busted or incompatible.

If it works, place the original first DIMM in slot 1. If it doesn't work, the two DIMMs are not compatible after all (or the slot itself is busted or there's some dirt in it preventing a good contact; it happens. Blow some compressed air from an air can to clear it).

After reformatting my ASUS P5VDC-MX lost sound.

That would be expected, because as mentioned above, its a motherboard manufactured for Fujitsu-Siemens, not maintained or supported by ASUS !!

The drivers can be obtainedfrom the chip vendors whose products are used on the board. ASUSdoesn't make Intel or Realtek chips.

Intel 845GE/ICH4 =

Realtek ALC65x AC97 Audio =

Realtek RTL8101L LAN =

Windows Update will have fairly recent drivers for every device on this board. Additionally, FSC maintained an all-encompassing driver update package for Scaleo models active between 2004 ~ 2006:

http://www3.fujitsu-siemens.com/services/homepc/scaleo.zip (76MB)

I sincerely hope that one of the above will work................sodeep

I have a asus p5vdc-mx motherboard, but my problem

Shut off windows system restore. (A must do first).
Update your antivirus software & perform a full system scan. When completed shut down your system. Unplug the power cord from the power supply. Open your case & touch the metal framing with your hand to discharge any static. Remove your system memory. Wait a minute or two. Re-install your memory. Close up your case. Plug the power cord back into the PS. Power up your system. Check windows for updates. Do not use the Express button. Use the Custom button.
Download all security updates & look to the left and install any hardware updates as well. Restart windows after updating.
There are viruses that attach themselves to *.exe files and they can restart your system. Running a system wide scan and pulling your memory takes any chance of a virus storing its self within your system memory. If this does not stop your system from restarting when opening a program. Uninstall that program. Restart your system. Than reinstall that program. You can turn windows system restore back on when you feel 100% sure your programs function correctly and windows does not restart its self. Create a system restore point.

Hope you find this helpful.
Cheers!
Mike
