Comfort-Aire HD-651 Dehumidifier Questions & Answers
Bought a new BHD-651-G 65 pint dehumidifier. Set
It's easy to replace, if after you dismantle the unit, you know what to look for. If not, than it would be difficult. Your Owner's Manual may have a schematic in it, that would be of tremendous help. If it doesn't contact Heat Controller Inc, and ask them to email you a schematic. Then, after reviewing it, you can decide whether it would be to difficult or not for you to do.
My Comfort-Aire BHD-501-B is running. However,
I don't think it's a thermistor problem, as previous respondents have suggested. I have one of these units. The control panel has been nothing but trouble. The Power button works, but the Fan Speed button is stuck on High. The Humidity Up/Down buttons only work sporadically. Sometimes they work if I keep punching them. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when they work and when they don't. I think they're just cheap parts that have failed prematurely.
Rapid cycling
The has been no solution offered, just as there was no solution for the individual who had a similar problem and posted in Nov 2006. The only offer is to purchase a solution which I have determined is the only function of this website!
What does the check filter light indicate?
Don't know your model specifically, but you might want to check the air filter at the front. It could be totally clogged up and no air can pass through for the system to work.
Full light stays on always
Don't know your model specifically, but most dehumidifiers have a float that shuts the system down when the tank is full. Maybe the float is not going up and down like it should. With the power off and the tank out, see if the float is descending like it should when the tank is out. Popping it up and down a few times might solve the problem.
Why does my Maytag M3dh30b2a
Check the filter check the vents. Is the compressor running non stop.If compressor is running non stop then this burning smell is indication of weak compressor.its getting over heated.the refrigerant in compressor is low so its running non stop, and compressor needs to be replaced. But if compressor is functioning properly and no issues with compressor then it can be fan motor burning smell or any plastic component getting over heated and melting. One thing you can do is unplug the unit from wall outlet for few hours then reconnect and check.if still the burning smell is noticed, then it has to be checked.the wires getting burnt or any plastic component getting over heated, the filter getting blocked or compressor running non stop.-------
This will help to troubleshoot the problem.thanks.Helpmech.
