Hello,
below are the things you have to look out for:
Ensure that the dehumidifier is getting power from the home by checking the power cord, circuit breaker
switch, and fuse.
Check the water level in the tank if your dehumidifier runs for a
prolonged period of time or does not switch on at all. If it is empty
or low, change the dehumidifier's air filter. If the tank is full,
empty the water and try the dehumidifier again. Replace the float
switch if the dehumidifier will not turn on after the tank is emptied.
If the dehumidifier still does not work, call a repairman to check the
refrigeration system.
Inspect the fan and motor assembly if there is no air coming out of
your dehumidifier. Rotate the fan by hand to ensure that it is not
stuck and look for cracked or damaged blades as you go along. Check the
motor with a circuit tester and replace it if it fails.
Examine the coils in the back of the dehumidifier for signs of frost.
Frost makes the dehumidifier unable to pull any additional moisture out
of the air as it is passed over the coils. Turn off the unit to allow
the coils to defrost before attempting to use it again.
Good luck.
