Hi! GREAT site! We have a Sony SXRD KDS-R60XBR1

5 blinks if for the ballast that powers the light. You can try changing the bulb first, if that doesn't fix it then I believ it will be your ballast. If you haven't changed the bulb before It could probably use one anyway, and you could keep the old for a spare.
Here are some more from sony on this.
According to Sony:

Red LED Flashing four(4) times
o Fan not plugged in
o Foreign object hitting blades
o CN2301 on ASU board not seated or connected
o ASU shield touching S1 board

Red LED Flashing five(5) times
o Interconnect harness from Lamp driver 5-pin to ASU 9-pin board not connected
o Lamp driver failure
o Bent pin on Lamp driver 5-pin connector
o DSU to C board harness not locked
o CN6501 on G board not seated or connected
o Lamp failure

Stanby light flashes green and looses the signal

For the KDSR60XBR1, 5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks, etc. means "Lamp driver error" and the probable cause listed is "Lamp driver is faulty".

You may purchase the lamp driver (power supply block), part number 146893612, for $161.86 at http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/web/productSearch.do. Use the Part or Accessory Number to look it up."

Blinking red light that says bulb

It means your lamp is burnt out and you have to replace the lamp with a new lamp. When you install the new lamp dont touch the glass lens part at the front of lamp or the oil from your finger will burn the new lamp and it wont work.

Picture and sound out could it be the bulb

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV. Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired ofcourse) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companiesPhilips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failedin 2-5 years instead of 10-20. Thecapacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in allsorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems. Here are some options for you. 1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is itunder warranty?) Remember, TVs CONTAINHIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk. 2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cordplugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad capsreplace the entire board. The entireboard costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited. I would definitely shop around though. 3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill. Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourselfit will save you hundreds. This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be. I have a Tip/How TO tutorialon this site that may also help. Itgives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this isyour board you are in luck. Here is theLink: Fixingthe Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to helpguide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help. Hope this helps and if it does please rate itaccordingly. Good luck.Kaufman605

[email protected] much green in the

Hi,
I'm afraid, greenish picture is problem of light engine (optics block unit) in tv and it is not related with lamp. Lamp is white bright light source for light engine in lcd rear projection tv.
Light engine will be replaced to solve greenish picture problem but it would be costly fix by local/ Sony technician only, it is not user level repair.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

I have a Sony KSDR60XBR1.

Sounds like your lamp has failed. May not be physically blown but the 5 blink code indicates either the lamp or ballast has failed. Normally its the lamp. Good Luck!

KF-50WE610, POWER/STANBY LIGHT blinks two

I think you have a power fault. Probably a short circuit on one of the boards because two flashes of the power lamp is a power over current problem.
Hope this helps.

Its happening to me...

Four blinking lights means one of your fans are dead. You need to find which one isnt working and replace it. It cost me $19 to order the fan and is an easy fix.
You have to take off the back cover and turn the tv on and see which one doesnt spin and replace it.
