Rival CZF630 Deep Fryer Questions & Answers
I lost the cord to my fry daddy and need another
Believe it or not, a lot of appliance cords will fit into other appliances. That is especially true of the cords with just the two holes to plug in to the appliances. I also lost mine, but found that a cord works great.
Heating Element/Coil (no power, no light)
first, check to make sure your fryer is assembled correctly, everything is seated firmly, and nothing wet or oily. make sure everything's turned off, and there is oil in the reservoir. also make sure (on the rival czf625, not sure about the 630) that the magnetic "surerelease" is properly attached and secure (i can not begin to explain the grief this has caused me, every movement seems to dislodge the plug, though it still looks attached).
plug in the power cord to the outlet, and try to turn it on. if all looks well, and it still doesn't work, i'd send for a replacement heating element.

Fryer cord gets really hot
This would be caused by an over current problem or in other words you have a device trying to use more power than its designed for. I can think of 2 things that might cause this one would be an element bleeding to ground the other may be an insulation breakdown in a wire or fitting. If you feel comfortable taking it apart you could look the wire and connections over very well and look for discolored areas which would indicate a hot spot or if you have a ohm meter you could also read resistance to ground through each lead, and through the element or elements.
Thanks hope this helps you.
Cleaning
From http://www.rivalproducts.com/help.aspx?helpNav=1:
How can I clean my fryer?
- Unplug from outlet and allow unit to cool. Always turn control to OFF then disconnect plug from wall outlet BEFORE disconnecting BREAK-AWAY CORD.
- Clean the outside of the fryer and lid with a damp cloth. CAUTION: Do not use abrasive pads or alcohol to clean the fryer.
- Remove basket handle, if one is included. Frying basket can be washed in hot soapy water.
- Rinse and towel dry carefully.
- Pour out oil and discard properly.
- Wipe the inside with paper towels to absorb excess grease. Wash interior of fryer with hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. CAUTION: Never immerse the fryer in water or wash in running water. If you own a fryer with a removable bowl or other removable parts, refer to the Owner?s Guide for your specific fryer to determine which parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
