Coffee leaks from the bottom of the coffee maker
I just fixed my Mr. Coffee machine by removing the the 4 phillips screws in the bottom and re-attaching the red rubber hose to port it came off of. This is upsetting because if I knew this 2 months earlier - I would not replaced my old one with this one. These machines need a hose clamp to prevent this frequent failure. I will have some coffee now.
Delay brew will not come on in my Mr. coffee
I tried everything (cleaned multiple times, unplugged for 10 minutes) and then my husband asked.... is the time set for the delay brew? The answer....no! The power went out recently and we reset the clock but not the delay brew time (we don't use it much lately). Once I set the delay time the unit now works for delay brew!
Brews very slowly
If you ever had coffee ground spill over the top of the basket and into the water reservoir then you may have gotten grounds into the pump valve. That would cause it to pump water slowly or not at all. Before you take the machine apart to clean out the hose and pump try flushing it out. I used a turkey baster full of water and stuck the tip into the hole at the bottom of the reservoir that leads to the pump and heater. Forcefully squeeze the baster which will flush water and hopefully the coffee grounds through the pump and out into the pot.
Cleaning light will not quit blinking after cleaning
The same thing happened to our Mr. Coffee this week! I followed the instructions about running vinegar through, then rinsing several times with water. However, the light would not stop blinking. We did by-pass the light by setting the timer for delayed brewing and it worked. However, that blinking light came on again. Then, my husband tired the vinegar wash again but instead of doing it one time, he ran the same vinegar through 6 times until the light went out! Then he proceeded with the water rinse. Our Mr. Coffee is working again!
I turn on my Mr.
My Mr Coffee is less than 2 years old. It beeps 5 times but won't brew. I decided to use my electrical engineering degree to help tackle the problem. Seems the problem lies in the pot warmer thermal switch which controls the power to the warming element. The switch is open but should be closed since the element is cold. I ordered a new switch. In the mean time, since it appears that the switch is a simple bimetal switch and perhaps stuck open, I tapped it several times with the end of my screw driver. That solved the problem for the time being. When the switch fails and tapping it doesn't work, I'll replace the switch.
Brand new Mr coffee PSTX
If you look where the reservior fits into the base, specifically where the water goes in, there is a rubber seal. It's held in by a circulary plastic piece and 3 screws. I took it apart there to see if something was amiss and decided after looking at it some that they had put the seal in upside down. So I put it back together with the lip of the seal facing up instead of down and I have not had a single drop of water leak from the reservior again. Now if I can get the thermos pot that came with it to stop leaking every time I pour a cup I will be a happy camper.
