no this site does not sell anything take the rv to a caravan shop and have the ac specialist check for an after market unit that will fit most thermostat are alcohol filled tubes that pushes on a diaphragm that makes or breaks a circuit against a spring tension that is set by the knob so it is very possible that the ac manufacturer used a common make that will fit but you will have to go to places that retails units such as a caravan repair shop or an ac repair specialist shop

A frozen compressor can be caused by several things. One cause could be partial loss of refrigerant or being over charged by someone adding to the factory charge. Another cause for a frozen compressor might be poor heat transfer in the evaporator, which is where the cool air comes from. This is usually systematic of a dirty evaporator or poor air flow coming from the fan. Another cause for a frozen compressor is the system not turning off when it should. That would be depending on whether you could do it yourself, or whether you had to pay someone to do this. Please call some RV dealers, and price all of this. An opinion? Dometic is not generally known as the highest quality product. (I have had many.) The really important item is that you must be really sure to have watertight seals in place when finished. Sounds like either the temp unit or sensor may need to be replaced. You should also check the resistance of your relays with a multi-meter to check that they are not causing the problem. Checking the power from power-supply would probably be a last thing to check for.

I know this is an old question but almost all rooftop AC units get thermostat power from the Furnace. If you don't have good 12 volts at the furnace your thermostat will not work.

find where the thermostat bulb is located if it is the ceiling or unit , it requires the unit to fill to the roof with cold air before it turns off as most rv units are not insulated , the unit seldom fills with cold air enough to turn it off I would get an accredited ac shop to check it out

If your inverter puts out enough power, sure. It may drain your batteries pretty fast, though. Check the power rating of your AC and compare it to the power output of the inverter. Add a safe margin for everything else you want to run at the same time.

You actually posted this in the wrong area but I am originally from Minnesota and can tell you. What's happening is called ice damming. They do make a drip edge type of thing that isn't very expensive for just this very thing. Go to Lowes, Homedepot, Menards etc. NOT your local trailer supply as they usually charge more.
