HP has no issues with it, its near obsolete. 10 years old. HP drops support after 10years no OS stated, is this the virus magnet XP or now dead VISTA that matters big time, the OS, state that first. all hardware can be fixed. all can,! deep pockets and lots of spare time. sure. all old PCs freeze!, for many reasons. top causes (my worthless guess only fate wins is true ) 1: virus infected , x 2: the main battery is shorted, take it out run on AC all day. 3: coin cells fail, all do , not one lasts 10 years (2-5 is spec from top maker ('copper top") 4: spilled drinks into IT. 5: HDD bad. dead or failing and freezing, sure. vast PCs are put in the land fill for this alone when you see price of the fix. (new HDD + new cost of new OS + labor) ouch now the HP point finger thing, sure there are limons. many (vast) 2008 laptops had the GPU Nvidia solderballs from H3LL failure, HP and you victim. if the screens does not do crazy things, its not Solderballs. your PC came with VISTA new. is it still vista after 10 long years? COIN cell new? 2.9v to 3.3v good below that not good at all. run a HDD test yet, that be next. in order here. the BIOS can have a HDD test if lucky most do 2006 up. years. what is the connection? to your PHONE = CELL? USB cable? go to yoiur CELL phone service provider and get the proper application software package that makes this all work. After all VISTA is now offically dead at microsoft and HP.' so only they can fix this. No cell phone stated, so no real help possilbe. what does sending mean, be more clearn on that please. sending a file via usb sending text via (what) or?

step one, big battery out? skipped that? step 2, a good power pack , that means 19vdc on those 2 pins. bingo BIOS screen now work ,yes? step 3, try an external VGA screen at the P15 VGA jack there screens work now (BIOS first) yes/no? remove DVD, drive and all USB devices there booting with only 1 memory stick. USB adapted wireless mouse is another option, the touch pad can be fixed at your local PC repair shop.

You killed the hard drive. It needs to be replaced and you'll need a new operating system to go with it.

1. Power off youtr notebook2. Remove power supply calbel from side of notebook3. Remove battery from notebook4. Ground yourself to get rid of electrostatic, do not touch exposed compenents till you do so!5. Use screwdriver to remove smal square plastic cover from underside of notebook6. Install memory into open slot making sure that you have the correct type and speed for notebook6. Install cover onto underside of notebook7. Install battery, then cable, and start up notebook8. Verify that all memory is recognized in Windows (or whatever OS you are using)

On HP laptops the memory chips are usually stacked, sitting almost on top of each other...if the memory chip that's in there now is sitting in the first slot you may not be able to see the second slot below it. If that is the case, remove the chip that's in there now and install your two new ones.

test your power supply and see if its not getting enough power . i had same problem and found out it was my power supply.

If you face this problem the main reason behind this is overheating of the main processor please do not try to use it anymore and call some tech or take it to the nearest service center and then clean the product.If you continue to use this product then the main processor will burn and you will be in big trouble.

Another reason if the laptop turns on and turns off immediately then the problem is with the mother board and it requires repairing.

here is my advice : Just go to www.microsoft.com and download internet explorer again and install it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solve the problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communication softwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also . I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . I already have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have ( Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the idea and you'll be satisfied with the result .

If that didn't help then try to check system for errors . such as registry errors .

OK remove all that software from Add/Remove programs... then reinstall the latest copy from Adobe, then install this in Administrator mode, you should be all good.
