Bosch SHU43C05 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher Questions & Answers
Bosh dishwasher SHU43C05UC won't
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description " won\'t finish the cycle. won\'t drain and keeps running for ever when gets to 1 min left.Hoses checked and not clogged. I was able to drain the water by doing the test run and punching the rinse and hold button"
I'd say the issue is most likely with the control...unfortunately. The "1" being displayed is actually an error code associated with a heating fault.
Bosch has had a history of this exact problem I'm about to lay out for you and this is the first thing I'd be looking for if called out to service the unit with the symptoms you've described.
**B/S/H/ also issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the model & serial number, and it does apply to yours....based on just the model number, but check the serial number. It applies to serial numbers betweenFD7905 - FD8505 The issue was directly related to the heating circuit (specifically the heat relay on the control) Here`s the link if you want to see for yourself **
http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/
As I've alluded to the issue is likely within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ).
My first suggestion would be contacting Bosch re: the recall or calling in an authorized bosch service tech. if that is an option for you and your budget however, If you feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself.
It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board.
The culprit will 99% of the times be one of the pins from the heater relay,
**Flip this over and inspect the solder joints, it will be obvious when you see it.**
This ones new, but it's where to look...
...hence the unit sit`s and takes longer & longer to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed...or takes a long time as I mentioned and eventually display's "1" on units with a display.
You can also run the unit through a regular or econo cycle ...any cycle with the exception of rinse & hold, and with the door panel removed place an ammeter on the gray/black wire it should draw 11 amps during the wash cycle...after it fills and the flow switch indicates it has adequate water to engage the heater.
i.e.
**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**
**Please disconnect the power or turn off the breaker before attempting any service to the dishwasher.**
If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine.
Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further. I would recommend you contact Bosch regarding this recall, perhaps the repair will be free...but I don't speak for them.
Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness.
Good luck.

Dishwasher keeps running
sounds like a problem with the pressure chamber. you better have a appliance tech come out to fix it.
BOSCH DISHWASHER
Check the sensor of the liquid at the bottom of the dishwasher. Sometimes that is the cause of the fault.

No operation -electrical circuit is OK What to
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
I can likely help, but first I should ask what you've checked to this point. When you state " electrical circuit is OK " does this include the wires in the junction box. That is the single most common culprit to thew unit not operating, or "no power" symptoms.
Let me know and we can move forward from here.
Thanks,

My bosch shu43co5 made a burning smell and stop
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
**Before I begin I will inform you B/S/H/ ( Bosch Thermador, Gaggenau ) issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the serial number.** Here's the link so you can see for yourself.
http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/
Aside from that and based on your post "my bosch shu43co5 made a burning smell and stop working in middle of a wash the breaker seems to be fine" it may just be a loose/burnt connection in the dishwasher junction box.
**Now I would start by first shutting off the breaker...safety first**
Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom )......and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line. Remove the murret's and visually inspect the wire for "resistance burn" and strip the wires back and install new fastener's if necessary to repair. i.e.This is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance".
Typically this will manifest in just the manner you've described.
Let me know what you find and I'll try to assist you further if necessary. I'd still suggest looking into the possible recall for your machine though.Regards,Macmarkus :)
Not filling or draining
The drain motor (pump out motor) in line with the outlet pipe could be faulty. This motor must spin (to pump out water) in the drain mode. If AC (mains)voltage is across motor in pumpout mode and the motor does not spin indicates that the motor is open circuit and needs replacing. Has one of the 2 motor push on electrical connections dislodged?
Is the outlet pipe obstructed?
Dishwasher is not filling
Hi,
There Could be 2 Reasons. Read the below information from a Guide :-
Water-inlet valve
The
water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is
defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located
behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the
device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a
rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.
Float switch
The
float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below
the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the
dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the
dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets
caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the
dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.
The Problem would be be either of the Above.

How do you stabalize dishwasher in installation?
All 4 feet/wheels usually have some sort of leveling feature. But, the most important thing to do is secure the bracket just above the open door to the underside of the counter top. This will hold the machine in place when you pull out both full racks. Without screws securing that bracket, the machine will most surely tip over. Good luck
When I start a load
Hi,
Your Bosch has something was stuck in the pump and causing the rattle and leaving water from the front botton.
Remove the filter and clean out any gunk and/or water left in the sump. , the pump cover is on the left and can be removed by unscrewing on Torx screw . Lift the cover off and see if something in there is causing the rattle. Clean and reassemble
This should solve your issue,
Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance
