The usual suspect for a Kenmore HE that runs, but doesn't heat is a thermal cut-out or the thermal fuse. Although they are a bit more resilient, in some cases the heating element itself could be bad. The way to check: 1. UNPLUG THE DRYER, FIRST. 2. Remove the bottom kick plate on the front of the dryer. 3. Remove the blower fan cover directly under the lint screen. There should be a couple of 1/4" screws holding it on. 4. Directly behind the blower fan cover on top of the blower fan housing are two components. One is the operating thermostat, and the white one is a thermal fuse. The fuse is a one-shot fuse that must be replaced if it is bad. 5. To the right is the heating element housing. There are two additional components mounted on the side of the element housing. The component furthest to the back is the thermal fuse. The one one closest to you is the hi-limit thermostat. 6. Check the continuity of thermal fuse and the thermal cut-out. They both should read a short. Additionally, check the resistance of the the heating element. The element should read something low (less than 20 ohms). 7. If the thermal fuse reads open, replace it. If the thermal cut-out is bad, replace the hi-limit thermostat with it. They are usually sold as a set. If the heating element is bad, you will need to disconnect all electrical leads and remove one 1/4" screw holding the element housing to the bottom casing. Pull the entire element housing from the dryer. Depending on model, sometimes the element slide out of the housing, sometimes you will need to remove a few screws to open it up. feature to prevent unintended cycle or option changes during
dryer operation.
To enable the Control Locked feature:
Press and hold AUTO DRY LEVEL for 3 seconds. Control Locked
glows and a single beep tone is heard. To unlock, press and hold
AUTO DRY LEVEL for 3 seconds. The indicator light turns off.

Most customer manuels have a code listing in the back? Have you checked to see what E1 is? It sounds like its not sensing properly. the sensor works off the vent...so the most common problem is the vent or venting. Please check and advise

leave door open and press the rubber botton inside, \ I just hooked up mine and it did same thing, i pushed botton light went out, so this told me the door wasnt closing correctly, you have to push hard on door first couple times. hope this helps you.

I have a Kenmore HE5 Steam: after a power failure last week, now when you turn the dryer on and push"start" the cycle stops emediately and flashes PF...

there is a clean out to the left or the pump.it should be in the middle front when you remove the bottom panel.[hint] have a shop vac on with the hose next to the clean out so you don't get water every where.if you do not have a wet/dry vac and it is on a pedistal open the drawer and put a small trash can in it.hpoe this helps.

Sounds like your drier is over loaded. Belt slipping due to : to much weight in drier. The drier motor is an adjustable. Belt test: If you can twist belt more than a half a turn it is to lose. Replace belt.

send the model number,open the door look around the opening where you put the clothes in you should see a tag there.if you unplugged it and it worked then it's not any of the t-stats or door switch most likely a board issue or something to do with the cord from moving it,when you unplug it and plug it back in your resetting the board so this is what it sounds like but can't tell if you even have a board without model number.

you can't get any parts for this dryer the computer board is no longer available,must be old technology replace it.

Many different possibilities. Could be thermal fuse, timer / control, motor. Start switch, or door switch. Most likely need to call service unless you have means to troubleshoot and test parts.

Most likely a control issue. Will it come right back on after shutting down or does it need to sit a while?

Sounds like the belt that turns the drum could be broken. I'd check that first.
