Orange light

A steady or Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Just to make sure that nothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

Optiplex 210l fornt mother board circuit diagram

Here is a link to the 210L model:ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_optiplex_desktop/optiplex-210l_user%27s%20guide_en-us.pdfDon't know if there is a wiring diagram but it does contain procedures for diagnosing problems pertained to your computer. Either way, if that circuit was shorted then you're probably looking at a new motherboard or sound card.

Dell OptiPlex 210L PC Desktop speaker is not working

Click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it in XP try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer or to if a laptop on the side you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your SOUND CARD dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems Hope this helps.

There is something wrong with my Dell Desktop Optiplex 210L PC..?

Start running a thorough virus scan. Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate. Uninstall any extras like those pushy toolbars, and add-ons.

Heatsink alert

OK, that means either your heatsink is bad or the Thermal Paste that goes on the heatsink and cpu has either dried up or is too think to keep the unit cool. It can overheat. On a desktop it's easy to get to. Remove the power cord, remove the case and turn the computer on its side so you can see inside. The heat sink will have a fan on top of it. Remove the screws from the fan and unplug the fan, then remove the heatsink by lifting it out. Sometimes the CPU will come out with the heatsink. Take a small flat head screw driver and carefully pry the cpu from the heatsink if it's attached. The cpu has lots of little prongs or pins on it and it sits in a slot that will accomodate the pins. There is a latch that allows you to put the cpu into the slot that you lift up to place it back in, then close the latch one you have the cpu in place. Put a good coat of thermal paste on the cup and heat sink, put it all back together. If you still get the message then you will need to replace the heatsink.Look on ebay by just putting in your brand and model of your computer followed by heat sink.
