How do i download music to phillips gpgear mp3 player
when the device is connected it may be visable in "my computer" as a device with removable storage, if so you just drag and drop files in to it.
if not the should be some software that came with the device to tell the pc how to use it.
How do you put videos on a mp3 player
You are trying to do something that isn't possible. If you'd like to view videos on the go, you need to get an mp4 player not an mp3 player. Most of the newer ipods available nowadays support some type of video.
I have a Philips GoGear
Hi there: I would go to the device manager on your computer. If your GoGear is telling you to. I don't know your operating sysltem. I'll assume XP as it's the most common now. Click, Start... Control Panel...Performance and Maintenance...System...Click the Hardware tab...Click Device Manager...Then find your device on the list...Right click on it and select unisntall. let the Device manager remove it from the system. Reboot the computer. Reinstall the disc that came with your Go Gear, If windows will not find it automatically. This will start you from the beginning. A fresh start. If you have a different operating system do a search for the "Device Manager" under the help section. I hope this helps, Jeff
I formatted my Philips SA1922 2GB MP3 Player and
when you format any drive you erase everything that is on them. you need to find the original files from the manufacturer to rebuild your system. philips should have files to download on their website philips.com. make sure your item is registered and they should give them to you for free. next time be sure to only delete your files. and only format first time use storage devices. the player should have already been formatted for your use.!!!!
Phillips GoGear 4Gb - Can't sync songs onto player...
This is only a makeshift solution.
I use a philips gogear sa52xx and found out, that deleting the drivers, then reconnecting the Player and pressing F5 in the explorer allows me to normally access the philips gogear sa52xx for about 30 seconds. After that, out of nowhere the drivers will sever and the Code 10 error appears. So, another disconnect - deinstall of the driver - reconnect - F5 in the explorer until the Player appears and then sync. The proplem is, that this works best (maybe only) with mp3 files...
So convert your music files into mp3 first, than do above steps for drag 'n' drop.
Usually, you need to do the whole procedure 2 times for a CD, sometimes 3.

If your GoGear is an HDD model, then it is incompatible with both Vista and Windows Media Player 11. If you have Vista, forget about this player. If you have XP, roll back your Windows Media Player to version 10 and try running a Repair in Philips Device Manager - the damage might already be done, but it is worth a shot.
If you have an SA model GoGear, get the latest Philips Device Manager from www.usasupport.philips.com. Make sure you enter your correct model # in the website, or you will damage your player. Run an Update in the updated Philips Device Manager to upgrade the firmware to fix the freezing issue. Philips has a weird quirk that if you want to really upgrade the firmware, you have to also update the Philips Device Manager first or the Device Manager from the CD will give you a false positive: "Your device is already up to date."
mwungura - You problem may be hardware related, which will require a replacement, but here's how we'll find out: First, make sure the hold/lock switch is not engaged. Try turning your player on again. Consult your manuals for details on what I have just said. Second, try resetting the player - the Philips website/user manual will tell you how to reset your particular GoGear. Third, download the latest version of your Philips Device Manager by going to Philips website. Once you have done that, first run the Update function to upgrade the firmware. Finally, run the Repair function in the updated Philips Device Manager. If all of the above methods fail, call Philips and find out how to get an in-warranty replacement (or take it back to the store).
Guest - your player is screwed - there is no software available for fixing that problem. Call Philips and find out how to get an in-warranty replacement (or take it back to the store). The problem was caused because you deleted a key system file when you were trying to delete music - next time, be very, very careful.

Please could u tell me why some of ipod like 2GB
If it doesn't have a large screen, it won't play video.
If you don't use the media converter that came with the player, it won't play video.
If you try to use a copyright-protected video on most mp3 players, it won't play video.
There are really quite a few reasons why an iPod wouldn't play video - I could keep on going if you like.
NOT CONNECTED WITH THE PC
Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
Try another USB port
Reset the player
If that fails:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab
If still nothing:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.
After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.
