When I disconect the player from the charger I get the following message "Connect to PC and use device manager to repair" then shuts down. After connecting to device manager it tells me the device is working properly. How to fix?
If you have the software conect the device to the computer; press volumen + with on/off switch at same time; then press volumen - anh hold it. The software recognice the device and you can update the firmware or repair it.

I got a new computer and can't find the software cd for my Phillips GoGear to put it on the new computer to be able to sync music to the device. My daughter has a Sanjo and all she has to do is just plug hers into the usb port and it recognizes it and will sync the music(her mp3 didnt come with software). When I plug my Phillips into the usb- it will recognize it and even show me the songs that are already on the device but it will not sync it. Help- Ive looked everywhere for the cd software but no luck. i misin the software want to see if i cld check my files in the go gear.

Hi, We purchased a Philips GoGear Ipod and a couple days later this poped-up. we did the repair and there is no change. WHAT TO DO ? HELP!!!!!
THANKS,
[email protected]
this just started happeing every time i turn my philips mp3 player on it will say memory corruption repair know and i have repaired it about 12 times know and it will shut off so i will rebute it and it dose the same thing how do i fix the problem.
You have to do the "update" in the Philips Device Manager (make sure you are connected to the internet when you do) to repair the corruption:
Recovery
Mode for Philips' GoGear
Open
the Philips Device Manager (Start à
All Programs à Philips Digital
Audio Player à SAXXX à Philips Device Manager) and
click on the “Repair” tab. Then click on
the “Repair” button to start the repair process. Most of the time, when your player is in that
state, the Device Manager will not recognize that your GoGear is plugged
in. If this is the case: Disconnect the
player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the
volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while
holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds
until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your
device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this
procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will
have to be reloaded.
Philips
GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You
need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1.
Go to www.philips.com/support
2.
Enter your country/language
3.
Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4.
Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5.
Click on "Software & Drivers"
6.
Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7.
Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8.
Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with
your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9.
Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If
you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the
latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the
"Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The
firmware on your device is already up to date."

device manager wont detect my gogear HDD1630/17 even though i recently updated the software and driver, also my device is frozen on "Please connect player to pc". I can't even get it back to the menu screen after a soft reset.
I was experiencing this similar problem, and from my research so were alot of other people, what finally worked for me was this:

It has been working for over a year and today I plugged in the power charger and the player came on and then turned off. It will not turn back on.

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.
1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new
Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
You must do a firmware upgrade to resolve this issue.
Open Philips Device Manager (Go to Start--> all Programs--> Philips...), and click on Update tab
OR
You can get it from www.usasupport.philips.com
It will delete all songs off your player, so be forewarned
Enter your model number on the website, click the link on next page that says SA 5125/37 w/o a "b" on the end
Click on Software and drivers tab
Click on firmware upgrade software - instructions enclosed

My gogear 8gb keeps getting frozen on the load up screen, I reset it then turn it back on but it does the same thing over again, what do I do?
Connect the player to power and pc. Reset the player by holding the off-switch and the volume-+ (plus) switch., and as soon as the player shuts off, press and hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The philips device manager should come up now and recommend a repair, let it do so.
