I have a epson photo rx620 printer. At least 10 years old. I'm running it with an iMac, os 10.x . Everything worked fine until yesterday when it refused to print. The scanner/copier feature work fine

You need a Driver update, go to : http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=44341&BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Downloads&platform=OSF_M_X9 where you can download the latest driver ( if the link above doesn't work for you, just go to Epson.com-Divers and Support-enter in your model #-it should show your Operating system in the box, if not, use the arrow to scroll thru until it you find what you are running and click it-Then click on the printer driver and update your driver. I have 3 of the RX580's and have worked on the RX595's & 620's (they are exactly the same except for color) and have had this same problem after an OS update or a Driver update. Getting the newest driver should cure your problem, although one time I actually had to revert back to an older driver for Windows XP. Don't forget to reboot after you get the new driver.

Will not print cd covers

Describe what YOU call CD covers? There is an anomaly here. Are you simply printing onto a4 paper for jewel case inserts or do you mean actually printing onto the CD.

Drivers for Epson Photo slylus RX620

To Any & All of you that need a driver for any Epson Printer ( I currently have 2 RX580's -1 with refillables & 1 with a CISS and I have had a CX, a WorkForce, an Artisan & 2 NX's in the past) just go to their website and download the drivers. Here's the link for the Windows 7 driver page ( you can also get Drivers for Windows XP there) and the Epson Link should detect your Operating System on its own: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=44341&prodoid=54782584&infoType=Downloads&detected=yes&platform=OSF_W_7-64 Just click it & follow the simple directions. Once you get the Driver, then download any utilities that they may have for your All-In-One Printer, like = Easy Print, PrintCD, etc. etc. NOTE: You should choose the 1st option they give you as it usually is all inclusive and normally is the same thing you would get if you had the original disk in your hand. But after you download it then check the "Utilities" Tab and see if there is any extra's for your particular model. It should also be noted that for just basic printing, Windows 7 will provide you with a driver for your printer by just going and hooking up the printer to your computer and letting Windows Update find them for you. Here's How To Do That: Printer drivers for most models (and not just Epson) are included in the Windows 7 operating system. Follow the instructions below to install the Windows 7 printer and scanner drivers.
  1. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
  2. Connect your Printer to your Computer, Plug in your Printer and turn it on.
  3. Click sw_startbutton_1_er.gif (or go to your Control Panel) and select Devices and Printers.
  4. Select Add a printer.
  5. Select Add a local printer or Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer. Mine choice was " Local Printer".
  6. Choose your printer port.
  7. Click Windows Update and wait for the printer list to update. The update may take a few minutes.
  8. Select EPSON as the Manufacturer, then scroll through the list of Printers and select your product. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printer driver installation.
  9. Note: Your product may also have an available scanner driver that is built into Windows 7 known as WIA.
For All Versions of: Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit I hope this helps some of you out as I know it's sometimes hard to hang on to those Disc ( or maybe you got the printer used and it didn't come with one....). If anybody needs any additional help just drop me a line and I'll see what I can do for you. is both the light blink the same time or blink alternate ? if blink the same time, it's probably a fatal error..

RX620 Error Message

This message comes up after about 40000 registers on a use counter. I posted what I did on the Epson RX620 forum. Look it up. Basically I bought a repair manual on the net for about $10.00 I used this to take the RX620 apart down to the waste ink catch pads which I removed cleaned dried and replaced. It was a long job the first time and you need the manual in order to figure out how to do it. My pads were only about 1/3 used but I live in a dry climate. So punch those override buttons and keep going. You might put a plastic sheet or pan under the printer to catch the waste ink when it actually does leak out.

Lines on printout of pictures

Here's some thoughts that may or may not help you. =) You could double check the Print quality and make sure it's at the highest. If the printer head is removable, you could take it out and clean any build up gunk on there. Sometimes it build up around the edges of the printer head. If it's an old printer it may just need a new printer head. But they are not really worth replacing since they cost as much as a new printer. Not much else you can do other than have the printer self clean itself.
