My handcam touch screen is not working

Have you ever heard the silly phrase: "If everything else fails, read the User Manual"? Please look on P. 23 where it says ... or better yet, here's the picture :-)

A picture "snap shot" taken from a chosen moment in the video. These are usually saved to a SD card or similar on the Camcorder.

There is no erase or delete, per-say...you have to re-record over any recordings on the tape in a silent room with the lens cap on.

If the touch screen of the Camcorder is not working, pleasefollow the troubleshooting steps.

Please make sure that you're using fully charged batteries.

Turn off the Camcorder and turn ON again and check the operation.

Try resetting the Camcorder by pressing the reset button behind the LCD panel.

It should be the first screen you see when you turn it on, if it has not been set. There are two solutions, one, buy a mini dv tape player. They are kind of expensive, but you will be able to get your information off your tapes. Second, buy a used, working mini dv camcorder on ebay and use it to get your information off your tapes. A five year old camcorder is not work fixing.

The flex of the side screen is bad and you need to change it.To do this the camera need to be unscrewed by an espert to prevent any other damage

i fixed the touchscreen on my hc26 with it on the first try. i put a piece of paper folded a couple times under the ribbon cable connections where it meets the screen (against the plastic frame for the screen, under the blue cable), and put a piece of cardboard against the circuit board to give it more pressure from that side. works like a charm!
