Maytag MDE9700AYW Neptune 174 Electric Dryer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Hi, my Maytag Neptune gas
The thermal fuse is NEVER at fault, it is only a symptom of some other problem and is a serious safety warning. Check that the exhaust vent is clean and not kinked or otherwise obstructed. When WAS the last time you cleaned the vent??

Maytag neptune dryer belt off and loose
If belt is not broken, then the tensioner is not routed properly. Generally belt comes around drum, then around tensioner pulley then on motor pulley. Tensioner is spring loaded, so you need to pull up on tensioner to get belt around motor. Good luck.

Where is the thermal fuse located
The thermal for the entire dryer is on the blower housing and the one for just the heater is on the heater case.

BTW, where is the fuse for this model number?
You should get 120Vac between the red and the white, the red and the ground. 120Vac between the black and the white, the black and the ground, and 220Vac between the red and the black.

Why is water in the dryer vent line
There can be multiple reasons for this. If the vent line exhausts to the outside, it is possible that if the vent louvers are stuck open and rain may enter the line when windblown. More common is that dryer vent air is hot and moist due to the water being evaporated from the clothes. If the vent line runs through a cool/cold area, condensation may form in the vent line. If there are sags in the line, condensed water can accumulate in these places.

Wiring diagram
It will usually run through a heat fuse that protects the dryer from overheating.
Best to download and save service manual from this site. Go to troubleshooting section and see if yo can run the diagnostics. The diagnostics code could tell you what is failing. There are component testing procedures listed to go through if the diagnostic code is not helpful.

Help with dryer repair???
The first thing to do is unplug it and take the bottom kick panel off. You will see a lot of lint. Get a vacuum cleaner and clean it out. Then you need to look for the heater box. It comes loose with a couple of screws and you can pull it out. Take a picture of it or write down the wire locations. Take the two wires off that go back into the machine. Then you can take it down and have it tested at an appliance shop.

No power to the display, dryer will not turn on
First thing you need to do is check the Circuit Breaker for the dryer. If it is tripped unplug the dryer and reset the Circuit Breaker. Now plug in the dryer and try to run it. If it does not work again check the Circuit Breaker again if it is tripped again unplug dryer and call someone that can help you or fix it. If the Circuit Breaker is not tripped check for good power readings on both power lines coming into the dryer. Should have 110V or more on each line to neutral, and 220V or more between each line. If you do not have the correct voltage at each line check Circuit Breaker for good power coming out.

Maytag epic front load electric dryer is turning
Unplug dryer. Remove heater element, and inspect element for damage. Use an ohm meter to check for continuity. Should have some resistance. Should not be open or short.
