I have a top load Neptune washer Model FAV6800AWW. When it is in the final spin the speed is like triple time of more. Why would that happen?

Sorry, I haven't had experience with this, but could it be related to a faulty control board, or like a limit switch that turns the spin mode off once a certain time has passed. Best of luck :)

Why is my maytag neptune mah3000aww making a loud noise in the spin cycle

Could be the berrings need to be replaced or possibly a broken spinner support assembly which is located on the outside of the inner stainless steel basket. Both of these repairs are costly and not worth paying for service to repair them, but if you are mechanically inclined and VERY patient you can probably make the repairs yourself. I'm in the middle of mine and very hopeful at the moment. Lots of information on youtub for berring replacement, but I didn't find much on spinner support replacement. I did figure out how to remove the spinner support and clean it. Mine is still in good shape. Best of luck! :)

How can you tell if the u joint is bad on your washer

There are no U joints on a neptune. If it is noisy in a spin the bearings have had water in them the rear triple lip seal has worn out letting water get into bearings. I charge $325.00 to replace the bearings, seal, and new shaft. It is a 3 to 4 hour job.

Why is the timer is longer than it used to be. each load is about 20 minutes longer

Old washers used a large amount of water and detergent with a agitator scrubbing your clothes. Newer washers use a third of the water and soap as your clothes "flop" over and thru the detergent solution. So you need more time to wash. Also the spinning and rinsing are different. The speed of spin is twice as fast as the older standard washers were, to extract most of the water.

Leaking maytag neptune washer

The pump and its various hoses are easily accessable through the back panel. The boot can collect coins which can block the pump. Squeeze the boot and empty it of all coins. Coins can ruin the impellers on the pump. A new pump costs $100 on line. The drain hose can be plugged by dimes and pennies. Good luck.

When I start the washer, it fills just fine with no problems but once it starts the cycle, it gushes water from the bottom of the door

Check the bottom of the plastic inner door. If there is a crack or a gouge, have it replaced. Also check the rubber door boot for holes above the water line

Water in the drum between washes

On top of the washer is where you ad the soap usually. When you are NOT running the washer, open the lid to the soap dispenser and see if you see any water trickling through it. If that is the case, you need to replace the water fill valve that the hoses are attached too.

Why does my washer (maytag mah5500bww front loader) make noise during the wash/rinse cycles but not during the spin.?

The noise could be from a loose wire harness, plastic purse-lock wire harness retainer on the upper hose hitting the top cover ir a plastic injector mold standoff on the outer tub bearing housing, also a flat spot in the belt could cause a tapping noise. Something between the outer tub and wash basket. I have had to remove items lodged in the drain tube between the pump and tub, like bra under wires. Sometimes you can squeeze the tube and feel objects the ate lodged. I always take the tube off the tub side and run my finger all the way down to the pump impeller to make sure. I also check the I can spin the impeller and the nothing is in the pump. Hard to say with out being there. Where do you think the noise is coming from top , bottom , left , or right side?

Do I access the tub area from the front panel or the top?

The 5500 Neptune washer and all predecessors are accessed from the front. by removing the 2 hinge screws, and the opposite 2 screws. The front goal post panel can then be removed, then the door can be lifted off. Maytag made a 1 piece tub and a removable front tub cover. Once the tub cover is removed by pulling all the tension clips you can remove the stainless spin basket one of 2 ways, either remove all 3 of the basket tumblers, then the 3 basket bolts, then the basket can be removed leaving the spinner support behind, or you can remove the rear panel, then the main pulley, then tap out shaft with a 2X4, this will remove the basket and spinner support together. You have not described the nature of your leak. Pleazer Appliance...

Loud noise during washing/rinsing cycles

I just replaced the bearings on my Front loader Maytag MAH5500B, as it sounded like a freight train during the spin cycle. The bearing replacement fixed the train problem. NEW PROBLEM NOW: It's been about a month now since the bearing job and now something is clicking/binding when you spin the back belt wheel. I have taken the belt off and carefully move the wheel and I still get this clicking noise. It sounds as if someone is hitting the plastic drum that the tub is surrounded by. I really doubt it's the bearings this soon, as the sound is not the same! No leaks or metal shavings to speak of or rubbing of the belt wheel. Seems like it's more noticeable during the wash/rinse cycles then the spin. Can anyone help.???
