Excess ink absorber tank

Have the service manual for your model, but replacing the ink absorber doesn't look easy. You might want to consider seeing a Canon repair person.
If it is possible to e-mail the service manual I will do so to you if it helps!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with try to uninstall and reinstall its drivers, if still the issue is not resolved then verify that there is actually no paper jam (open all the doors, take out the paper tray, take out the cartridges and visually inspect). Turn printer off and unplug the printer from all cables (power, USB, etc). Try to hold it upside down and gently shake it so that if there is any paper inside it’s removed. If still it’s not resolved then clean the print head. To clean the print head take a hot water towel with the printer unplugged and the cartridges out, clean it till the time you see there is no ink residue on the towel. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

What is error message 5100 for this printer?

Code 5100 refers to a carriage that is not freely moving from side to side. Look to the far left and right for anything that would impede the carriage path.

Also, it is possible that the clear plastic encoder strip just behind the carriage path has become smudged with (most often) grease. You can clean the strip with a cotton swab dibbed in alcohol.

I hope this helps!

My new canon pixma MP450 has an error code of 6500

this is printer logic motherboard problem

The 6500 error code is a logic board error code. The PCI Bus error is detected by the ASCI. Sounds like it needs new logic board. but i suggest you to first of all you can try to reset your printer -

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).
2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer.
3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
4. Turn the printer back on. If this works you're done, if not try the next step.

1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the paper output tray.
2. Open the top cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.
3. Open the inner cover and check that ink tanks are properly seated.
4. Properly seated
5. Press down on each ink tank until a click is heard.
6. Close the inner cover and top cover

if reset method not works for you then you go for the new logic board replacement .

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

When I want to print, the printer gives error

Hi You can Try 2 things.

ERROR 5100 means that there is some foreign object blocking your cartridges carriage that disables it from moving. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Next try.

It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire.
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
