Hello PiArne -

Am I safe to assume you have the user manual for the printer? If so, am I safe to assume you have looked up the information in the user manual. If you don't have have the manual, you can download it from the Canon Support web page here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mp-series/pixma-mp450?tab=manuals . Check the Troubleshooting pages 100-101 in the manual. If the information in the user manual does not help correct the problem, Contact a Cannon Pixma Printer service representative:

1-800-652-2666; Monday-Friday: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm (Eastern Time zone)

Have the following information to provide the custormer service representative:
* Product name: PIXMA MP450
* Serial number: written on label at rear of machine
* Details of the problem
* What you tried to solve the problem, and what happened

Best wishes

Try this... it worked on my MP450... Turn the printer on and open the lid, it shows the cartridges. Now let the cartridges settle to the left. You can notice that the cartridges run on a metal belt. It might be dirty, mine showed a black stripe on it. Take a cloth, a cleenex will be fine and clean it up. Move the cartridges to the right (force them with your hand) and clean the part of the belt left behind them. Now turn it off, close it up and turn it back on. It should work

They don't like re used cartridges.
I would purchase a new printer as they are not economic to repair.

Which Rule is used for your XML files when you load them in BC2? If you go to the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Rules section, and edit that Rule, is there a path in the External Conversion section?

If so, this is the expected path of the helper files. Please double check your install directory (Program Files\Beyond Compare 2\) to see if these files are present.

I ran a full clean and maintenance on mine and it worked fine for another month but then it started smudging and putting lines over he paper again. I ended up throwing it and buying a new printer as the Guy at the shop said its worn out. After 4 years of heavy duty printing, it wasnt a bad run.

Clean or deep clean the black printhead. Go to 'printer properties' then 'maintenance' and click the appropriate button.
