Maytag M7DH45B2A Dehumidifier - Page 5 Questions & Answers
How to attach drainage hose to drain automatically
Because your model dehumidifier has an unusual continuous drain hook up, as compared to other brands, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your model. You will find the information on page 3. You can downlaod and print the, manual for future reference.
http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/123922.pdfOne thing the Owner's Manual fails to mention is the length of the garden hose that can be attached to the unit. It should not exceed 5 feet. As drainage relies entirely on gravity to drain.
I hope this has helped you. Please let e know. Thanks.
Why does the full light stay on when the water
It's generally cased by the bucket not being installed properly. Therefor, the bucket removal safety switch is not being triggered by the bucket, when it's reinstalled. Also, if you bucket has a float valve in the top of the bucket, it may be stuck in the 'UP' position. Is so, jiggle the float handle until it returns to the 'DOWN' position.
Reinstall the bucket so that it fits "squarely" into the holder from top to bottom. The bottom should not tilt down at all.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot & solve the problem.
Our model M7DH45b2Qa flashes as
Check the adjustable float valve in the top of the water bucket. As I recall, it is adjustable to the amount of water you want it to collect, before shutting OFF. Also, when you reinstall the bucket, be sure that it fits "squarely" into the bucket holder from top to bottom. It should not tilt down at the bottom.
IT RUNS HOWEVER IT ISN'T COLLECTING WATER
There are 5 basic, but solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.
1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.
2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.
3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.
4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.
5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air
temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications . Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.
If
none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the
compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are
5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it
can happen.
Hope this helped you.

My dehumidifier says it is full but the bucket is
What you have described is usually caused by the bucket not being properly installed or if you have a model with a float valve in the top of the bucket , it is stuck in the UP position.
Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the bucket from it's holder and check for a float valve. If you have a model with that feature, jiggle the float valve's arm, to get it to return to the DOWN position.
If you don't have a float valve, the bucket must be installed "squarely'" into it's holder from top to bottom, so that the bucket makes firm contact with the actuator switch. The switch resembles a trigger switch, which is visible when the bucket is removed.
Troubleshoot the above, should solve the problem.
Unit will turn on for less than a minute and then
More than likely. the humidity extraction level is set to high. Lower it to 32 - 35%. If the unit is being used in a basement application, to air temp at floor level may be to cold. Setting the unit up off the floor on to a sturdy table or cabinet top, that is sturdy enough to handle the weight of the unit, plus a full tank of water will help.
Can this model drain without emptying the bucket
most units have a drain line kite . if you do this it means it becomes gravity dependent water must drain down hill you cant put a hose on it and then run it up and out of a basement window you know what i meen
Where does the hose attach? Do you have an
my hose connects to the drain pan, there is a hose fitting but you will have to knock out the plastic block first. Mine is not same as yours but they are not all that much different.

The model you have was made for Maytag by Fedders. Unfortunately, Fedders as you knew them, when you purchased the unit, is no longer in business.
The part you need to replace is CRCFD2518-020- Pc board w/auto restart dehumidify and with anti-icing thermostat
(defrost thermostat). this unit also include the humidistat control. However, that part is no longer available and there are no substitutions for that part.
Don't feel bad. This part was also used by many other name brand manufacturers and is no longer available for their dehumidifiers ether.
I'm really sorry, I wish I had better news for you.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. Most of the parts for this unit are no longer available. You would have to find something to match up to the float switch which can be hard seeing that the switch has a metal activator arm connected to it.

It is strange that both your units have the same fault.
Is the float switch positioned correctly and not being obstructed by the water container?
Try removing the main water container and place a small container where the condensate drain is, then switch the unit back on.
What happens?
I can't get my float on my dehumidifier to
Just, gingerly jiggle the float ball rod and it should release and return to the down position. If that doesn't work the first time, spray a light coating of WD40 on it.
