Maytag 24 in. MDBH950AWS Built-in Dishwasher Questions & Answers
Impeller is spinning counter clockwise on the wash motor.
Did anyone find out why the motor was spinning what seemed to be the wrong direction? My motor went out and I installed and new one same connectors and everything. Then the dishwasher wouldn't clean I bypassed the door switch and view the wash cycle and the arms weren't turning.. they are clean and not damaged. So I took it apart and viewed the impeller turning what appears to be the wrong direction.. even spinning to where the dull side off the chopper blade is the leading edge... could there be an issue with my new motor or a circuit board or some other issue. Wondering if there is a way to change the motor rotation with out causing other issues
The control panel is flashing
Hi.
The
model indicated: MDB5651A does not have display and the error codes are
shown like flashing lights. If that is your model and problem please
just tell me what lights are flashing.
In Maytag with display
instead, the L on display means that the machine is control locked. That
is not an error message, but a code telling that the machine has been
locked by the user (probably by mistake since you are the user).
I quote from Maytag technical documentation:
? If a cycle or option pad is pressed after the controls have been
locked, the indicator light next to lock graphic will flash five
times. On selected models with a countdown display, the display will
flash the symbol "L" simultaneously with lock indicator.
? This option does not lock the door, only the dishwasher controls.
To set :
1. Press the Heated Dry pad for three seconds.
2. An indicator light next to the lock graphic will illuminate when the controls are locked.
To Cancel Control Lock:
1. Press the Heated Dry pad for three seconds.
2. The indicator light will go off as instructed.
Try pressing the the Heated Dry pad for three seconds. If that doesn't work disconnect power.
Connect back and try again unlock (power off does not remove the lock).
If that still does not work there may be a faulty part. In that case
turn appliance off and give me the full model number.
Start
holding down the Heated Dry pad for three seconds. In normal conditions
that is enough to get rid of the L and of control lock.
If you need parts or schematics see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

My Maytag MDB9100 won't allow water in to wash the
You seem to know at least something about washers and that is a PLUS. Yes, you can replace these components. If your washer runs through the cycle WITHOUT any water in it...more than likely it is the water level switch. If it was the water supply valve it would stop the machine after a short time.
Maytag MDBH950AWS Dishwasher won't start
We have a Maytag Dishwasher that won't start. The only button that lights up is the "Heavy Wash" cyle. When this button is pressed, the "Heated Dry", "Sanatize" and "Extra Rinse" lights up. The dishwasher doesn't start. Eventually all of the lights go out. the buttons start/cancel do not light up.could you in some way help?
Thank you.

The dishwasher lights are all blinking, it starts randomly, like one in every 50 times you press the buttons. I have unplugged it to reset several times. Nothing is working. I'm looking for a solution to blinking lights and it not starting. is there any other way to reset the controls????
It wont start. the hi temp and heavy button are the only buttons that come on
OK I am not an expert but I have spent the last two weeks learning about and fixing my dishwasher! Hopefully I can save you a headache. Try the following:* Flip the switch off and on in your breaker/circuit box. May reset your washer.* If that doesn't work, try running diagnostic/reset cycles by pressing heated dry -normal- heated dry or heated dry-sanitize-heated dry in sequence. If the cycles run fine, you will rule out a power, latch, motor/drying issue. It also may (hopefully) reset your system.* If normal function still does not resume, make sure your power (from the breaker box) is turned off and unscrew (with a star-shaped screwdriver bit - check your car emergency kit/toolbox, you may find you have it) and open the front button control panel and check all connections. Try carefully unplugging and replugging wires and look for any corrosion/moisture on the circuit board. * If that does not work, test the circuit board by unplugging the green ribbon cable from the control panel, reassembling with the ribbon cable unplugged, flipping your circuit back on and then closing the dishwasher door. If the drain motor runs, it will show you that there is still some function with the circuit board. Although it doesn't rule out the circuit board completely, it will point to a most likely control (button) panel issue and try replacing that. If the drain test does NOT run, it may be the circuit board that needs to be replaced.Hopefully some of that helps!
