try downloading ophcrack and running it. you need access to a different computer and to be able to burn it to disc. it's not 100% but it does work sometimes
it will be placed on the main board..just under the keyboard...so to do so ..remove the hinges cover..(its just snapped in and remove it first by inserting a flat screwdriver in the back to lift the covers of the hinges..and after that snap out the cover from the keyboard side..under the F1 and F11 keys..and snap them out from one side to the other inch by inch ..) Under this cover you will have a few screws that keeps the keyboard in place ...and the keyboard will slide an inch towards the display ..and out ..remove its ribbon from the plug (it has a safety ) ..and locate the battery ...if you do not see it ..remember that some models has it under the wireless card ..somewhere in the middle ..under the space key ..and you will had to remove the wireless card too .. Some models even have 2 batteries..if you want to reset the bios passwords or something ..look hard and see if there is a second one .. I located a movie ..but is from another model ...it might help anyway .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcM9knr_P4Q&feature=related
Check your memory. If you have a faulty or substandard RAM chip, this is
a likely cause. Also there may be an error on the hard drive. Run CHKDSK/F as soon as you get it to boot and save all of your
data!!!!
Make sure the Charger is working. If it has any indicator lights on the charger, make sure those are on. Also you can try plugging it into another outlet just to rule out a bad power receptacle.
Symptoms of a broken power jack 1. If you wiggle the power cord or the AC Adapter connector on the back of the laptop, the power LED and battery charge LED start to flicker. 2. Battery will not charge in the laptop.3. Laptop runs fine off a charged battery.4. With the AC Adapter connected the laptop appears to be dead. No power LED or battery charge LED activity.5. Laptop randomly powers off without any warning
If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by resoldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/joe_8b8c2cd6ce148309
Ok well I recommend trying a system restore of your setup. press F8 at bootup, select SAFE MODE, when asked choose Restore system to another time, when it comes up again, select a time before the problem and follow the instructions & you should be soon OK
Most probably, your friend disconnected the cable connecting the touchpad to the motherboard while disassembling the laptop to fix the DC power pin, & forgot to reconnect it back. You will need to partially disassemble the laptop again & reconnect the touchpad to the motherboard.
You can only upgrade the RAM up to 1.5 GB only. The price depends on the availability and compatibility. You may check this from any laptop spare parts dealer.
Restore the defaults in the BIOS to begin with, this will make sure its not a setting in there that is disabling the mousepad.
Then in windows see if the touchpad is working. If not then take the keyboard out with the power turned off.
When you take the keyboard out you will see the ribbon cable that comes from underneath the touchpad. disconnect it from the motherboard and reseat it firmly back in. Then turn back on the motherboard and see if the mousepad works. If it still doesn't then try the shortcut key to enable it.
If it does't enable then that means its either going to be a mousepad problem where you would have to replace the top cover assembly or a motherboard problem cause it could be where the voltage required to run that mousepad is missing.
Do you get any lights? Does it show if the battery is charging at all? Try plugging it in without the battery.
You also may have a bad powercord or loose jack inside the computer where it plugs in. See if you jiggle it where it plugs in if any lights come on to indicate it has power or is charging the battery.
