The lights on the control panel blink constantly and the flap on the ice dispenser opens and shuts over and over, but no ice or water can be dispensed and none of the controls will respond. The refrigerator will no longer maintain the correct temperatures for the fresh food or the freezer.
Thanks, Solution #3, for the phone number ((800) 688-9900)! We, too, have the Ice2O refrigerator, and the HV Board started the disco light show last night. Followed instructions above to disable it, which temporarily solved the problem. Was on the phone with Maytag (Whirlpool?) this AM, and their initial response was that they wouldn't cover anything since we are out of warranty. I had to be extremely firm with my expectation that all parts and labor would be covered. Sent the rep back to her supervisor several times until they agreed to cover both. If you find yourself in a similar situation, don't give up until everything is covered. This is a design issue that should NOT be impacted by an expired warranty!

The compressor is making quite a bit of noise when the electrical connection clicks on and stops when the connection clicks off. I've checked that the fan isn't a cause and that the rubber mounts are firmly seated. This happens every three to four minutes and makes the noise for about 15 seconds or so. Any suggestions?
I think your compressor is not actually coming on.
It sounds like the compressor is stuck or the relay is shorted out. The compressor will not come on and off as quickly as you describe.
If the compressor is a Tecumseh, most likely the compressor will need to be replaced.
If the compressor is an Embraco, most likely the relay is shorted out.
The compressor is covered by a 5 yr warranty and will be replaced free of charge if it is bad.
If it is a tecumseh compressor, you can usually turn the fridge off for several hours until it cools down and then it will start back up again. You can usually limp along this way until you can get it repaired.

The fridge is warm and the freezer is still freezing we hear no motor but the fan seems to kick on. what to do?
This has to be the evap. fan motor. I have ran into this alot. If you take the vent off the topcenter of the freezer back panel useing a simple flat head unlock the clips. Once you see the fan blades push it with your finger carefully if it spins slow and little wobblely the motor has failed. If it turns not at all then check for 120V. going into the motor by unhooking it if you get 120V motor bad if you get nothing then the Jazzboard or Highvoltage control board has failed. To install a new fanmotor is easy take your time most parts come out with a flathead screw driver and 1/4inchnutdriver. Evap. fan motor is just clipped in.

FRIDGE IS BLOWING CIRCUIT BREAKER I RESET BREAKER AND IT BLOWS IT AGAIN.
Most likely you have a bad or weak circuit breaker. Consult an electrician for breaker change out. Make sure that it isn't hooked up with a GFI plug. They will not work on a GFI.

My new french door refrigerator makes a knocking sound off and all all day. It sounds like someone is inside knocking. That can't be normal. HELP ?
im sorry to tell you, but the sound is probobly normal.
fridges these days make some weird noises.
they started making noises when they changed the gas to R34a.
you may be able to get a noise ruduction kit for your model. they are not too fun to install

The freezer is working fine but the fridge wont get cold
DEFROST HEATERS
IN THE FREEZER. IF THERE IS FROST ON THE BACK WALL INSIDE THE OF THE FREEZER SECTION. YOU THEN HAVE A DEFROST PROBLEM. REMOVE THAT PANEL AND DEFROST WITH HAIR DRYER. THIS FROST IS BLOCKING THE AIR FLOW TO THE REF. SIDE. AFTER THIS IT WILL WORK FOR 10-21 DAYS WITH OUT REPLACING A PART. THERE IS A BROWN AND ORANGE WIRE TO THE DEFROST SAFTY THERMOST. THE CONNECTOR ON THAT BROWN WIRE MAY HAVE FROZE APART. THE DEFROST SAFETY THERMOSTAT MAY HAVE FAILED. OR CONTROL BOARD MAY HAVE FAILED. BEHIND THE KICK PLATE IN A BAG ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM OF YOUR REF. CABINET IS A TECH SHEET ON HOW TO FORCE A DEFROST TO CHECK THE SYSTEM.

How to replace the light bulb in the freezer of the Maytag french door
Hopefully you have figured this out. Its fairly simple to do. If your freezer if full you will need to empty enough that you can place your hand in and on the Plastic Light cover. Its in the center at the top of the freezer. This cover is removed by simply applying a little pressure to the right and left corner and pulling toward you and down. The light cover with very little pressure should mover and pull down. Once it begins to lower in the back just keep a hold of it and mover your hand toward the rear of the freezer and the front tabs will slide out.
After changing the light bulb, simply put the front two tabs of the front of the cover in first and snap back into place by pushing up. Takes about 3 minutes to change the light bulb. Good Luck!

I probed the L and N holes on the unit and got no voltage..so where do I look to see why..I have plugged and unplug the wire harness a couple of times didn't help, the plug show no corrosion. I jumped the T and H holes just to be sure the motor won't turn it didn't. I wan to check the power coming out of the socket where the wire harness plugs in on the frig back wall but not sure which two plugs to plug the wires coming our a black, a tan a grn/yl and a white. So which two shoudl I shove the meter probes into to see if there is voltage at the plug?
There is a bundle of wiring coming out of the ice maker and the black wire has a fuse in that bundle. If the fuse has blown it would indicate a defective ice maker motor or a short circuit somewhere inside of the ice maker. Our fridge is Model MFF2558VEW3 Maytag, it is 3 yrs old and we have always had issues with moisture building up on the bottom of the freezer and leaking water onto the floor. We have to remove the ice every 3 days and can find nothing in the manual relating to this issue.
It sounds like the defroster is not working. Look up online for solutions that are posted.
