Good morning, your oven most likely has a weak igniter. That would keep the gas safety valve from opening properly. It will get close to the required amperage but valve will only flutter and not allow enough gas to ignite. Hope that helps.

Hi, You could have a weak ignitor which can cause a smell of gas, I would have it checked unless you have a way to test for amperage. Test with amp probe should read 3.2 -3.6 amps if less than 3.0 replace ignitor. I hope this helps. You need to remove the door before you start dismantling the door. It is labor intensive and to hard to explain but here is a diagram that shows you the break down. Here is a video to point you in the general direction for the repair.

Hi Mary. I had a bad bulb in my Maytag new from the factory. I also had a hard time getting the glass lense cover off, and didn't want to be too rough with it for fear of breaking it. But it WILL come off if you turn it hard enough. I've since seen suggestions about putting warm water on it to loosen it up. And another person wrote and said using an oil filter wrench on it worked like a charm. Good luck

you'll need a glow starter (it works same as an pilot) or something like that, you can get to it from the back, check resistance and most likely they are bad.

you have a stuck light switch, either at the door or on the control panel. either will most likely need to remove the oven at least part way. then a test of the door switch will tell you if that is bad or not.

it may have burned up all of the small circuit boards in this gas oven , I wouldunplug it then open it up to see what is burned and also replace the cord first ,get back to me after you open it and see what you have , only do this if you are able to work on circuits or cords replaced

check the igniter switch on back of stove might have gone bad. Also make sure your stove did not get unplugged by accident. no electricity no spark
