I received a LE error message. It says i need to

First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000

My clothes smell mildewy. Why?

Front loaders are known for building up mold and the smell.
It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. Use powder. And use the minimum amount.
It’s caused by using fabric softener. Dilute it 50/50 with water.
It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the door open to allow it to dry. .
Pull the rubber door seal back and clean the mold off .
Affresh is recommended by some manufacturers. You run it through a wash cycle with it.

Horrid smell in clothes - LG tromm front loader

Odors are caused by a variety of particulates, and each is neutralized by a specific formula.

I don't know what type of odor you are dealing with, so we'll start with first attacking any soap residues. Buy a gallon of white vinegar, and run a small laod wash cycle using hot water and add 1 quart of vinegar and 1 cup of baking soda, repeat a second time.

After the vinegar treatment, run another small load wash with hot water and 2 cups of bleach, and one cup of baking

Finally, dampen a rag with vanilla extract, and wipe down the the inside of the tub and door.

I have a LG WM2016CW washing machine and there is

You said "stuck" in the drum somewhere? Like under the agitator vanes? You should be able to take the lid off the agitator, it should either clip in or have a screw holding it on, and there you will see the nut, or keeper that holds the agitator on the motor shaft. Remove that clip or nut and you can lift the agitator out of the washer. From there you will see all of the wash drum and should be able to remove any foreign objects. If these "coins" are between the inner and outer tub, then you will have to remove both the top cover and lid, and remove the agitator and the inner drum to get to the outer drum in order to reach these objects. Not a hard job, but it will take you a little while. You could try reaching with your fingers around the agitator bottom and see if you can "feel" the coins or objects and possible use a small brush or stick or popsicle stick to move them out so that you can reach them, Kinda like "fishing" under the refrigerator or the couch. In the alternative, you could enlist four friends and unhook the washer from the water supply and the electric, and turn it upside down and try to shake the coins or objects out the top of the drum. Tilting the machine to one side will let them fall to the cabinet sides and possibly drop out the bottom when it is uprighted. Now I know why Mom always "checked" my pockets before she washed Dad and my clothes. We left a little of everything in there, from time to time. Good Luck with this.

Smelly clothes, nasty towels. Temporary solution.

This can happen with any front loading washer, regardless of the manufacturer.

One of the first things to do is make sure you're using the He (High efficiency) laundry detergent and only use a small amount, about 3 tablespoons or less. The trick is to not use so much detergent that you start getting a buildup in your machine. Also, if you have heavily soiled clothes, pre-treat them instead of adding more detergent to your wash cycle. This alone will result in better results.

Also, be certain the washer is properly leveled in all directions and to make some slight changes in your wash day schedule.

By making sure the washer is properly leveled, it will operate better and help minimize odors, as the spin cycle will get more water out, etc.

The other tip, that has really helped in our house, is to do all the hot water (whites) as the last load. Since we do use bleach when we wash our whites, along with hot water, the washer's last load will have had the best sanitizing cycle run through it before being left for the next load another day.

With the bleach and hot water, the washer gets a nice clean disinfecting wash which helps eliminate odors, germs, excessive soap, etc. and leaves the washer fresher. By doing this, we don't have to purchase other (more costs and expense) additives to run through the washer to attack the odor causing germs and gunk.

What good is a more energy efficient washer if I have to always run a special tablet/liquid cleaner in it each week without any laundry in that wash load? Seems wasteful to me to be doing an "extra" wash just to wash the washer. So I'm not a proponent of having to always use another product every week or month to have a washer work like it should.

However, if you've got an existing (smelly/moldy) washer presently, I would recommend that you use a produce called Whirl-Out, which will help dissolve the buildup that your machine currently has and get it clean again. Then you can follow the steps above to keep it from causing you issues in the future.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Smelly Clothes...yuck!

Well, hope you avoid a lawsuit.

Putting the machine in perspecive....It uses water, soap, movement, and drains.

So, you start at the source water, and GUARANTEE that it is clean and pure (same as all other sources in your home) No cheating, take it off and run water into a 5 gal bucket, EACH hose.

Then, witness the drain volume, Pull the hose and observe while draining. the most likely issue is water is restricted from exiting the machine by some foreign material...

Typically, the machine would not loose efficiency without something being broken....

Water will not drain out of barrel during spin

If you have the LG brand you posted under: Open the access door at the lower left on the front of the washer. Place the end of the small hose into a shallow pan and remove the end plug to drain the remaining water out of the machine. If water does not come out, the hose may be plugged with sand. In that case, pull the washer about 18 inches or so out into the room and tilt it back so the back rests on the wall and the front legs are in the air first before then removing the filter by unscrewing the big knob in that access area. Clean out the filter and reassemble. Test. If still no pump out, the pump impeller may have come off the pump motor shaft, which would require pump motor replacement.

LE Tromm Washing Machine

i think you mean LG Tromm washing machine ... and the error code is LE ... thats a common failure with this machine .. often its cause by a defective " Hall effect sensor" this is used to detect the position of the wash basket ... if you are handy with tools then you can change it yourself at low cost ... but it does require removing a big bolt, the spin basket and several small bolts ... not difficult for a mechanic but probably more than aunt martha would want to tackle .. the URL listed below will give you good information on how to do that job ..

Wm2688h will not drain anymore.

You need to take a flashlight and look into the suction port on the pump. Make sure the pump is not clogged and check the pump impeller. Make sure that no blades are broken or missing and the impeller should spin freely. If any blades are missing or broken on the impeller or if it will not turn freely, the pump will have to be replaced. Hopefully, it is just a clogged pump. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Getting an E1 error code

It should be the 1E error code. LG standard is xE indicating a code followed by E for error. Except in the cae of power failure which is indicated by PF.

E1 means inadequete water supply. This can be cause by a kinked hose in the back of the machine (going to the hot or cold water supply). A water valve (at your hookup connection) that is not fully open, or a clogged filter in the inlet hose.

Insure the valves are completely open on the wall behind the washer, and that the lines connecting to the washing machine are not kinked coiled tightly. If neither of these are the problem, shut off the water valves and disconnect the water lines from the machine and wall and insure that the screens in the hose are clear.

Good luck to you.

I have exactly the same problem!

Try using the tub clean cycle and use a good dose of bleach or vinegear. Here is how to run the tub clean cycle.

To start the TUB CLEAN cycle:
1. Remove any clothing or items from the washer and close the door.
2. Open the dispenser drawer and add liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment.
NOTE: Do not add any detergent to the detergent compartments. Excessive suds may be produced and leak
from the washer.
3. Close the dispenser drawer slowly.
4. Power On and then press the Extra Rinse button for 3 seconds. (Prewash option will be selected.)
5. Press the Start/Pause button to start.
6. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open to dry around the washer door opening, door seal and
door glass.

We purchased a Tromm Model#WM2233HW S/N MOLD growing in the rubbe

put 2 cups of bleach into the washing machine and run a cycle with HOT water (long cycle) Steam if possible. This should kill the mold...with a front loading machine you MUST use HE Detergent, and LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN AFTER THE LOAD IS DONE!!!!!!! the seal needs to dry, just like your shower curtain needs to dry. You should also wipe your seal with a dry towel after each load. It does state this in the owners manual, as well as the laminated sheet with the suction cup that came with the machine...
