LG WM2487*M Washer smells like burning rubber in spin cycle
Smells like, I mean sounds like, a belt is burning either from friction caused by a bad bearing, or, a loose belt is slipping on the pully a bit, causing it to heat up from the friction.

My washing machine is taking very long to complete a cycle. It can stay at 21 minutes left on the timer for an hour. It seems this problem started months ago when the wash time would state 55 min but take 2 hours to complete...today I tried washing one load and it has taken so far 4 hours. Occasionally I will receive an error (not sure which one) but not every cycle.
I used to have the same problem. You should try to lower the amount of cloth in your washing machine. :) hope this will help.

Hello,
Yes.
There
are several reasons that a washing machine won't drain or spin. The
cause could be something as easy as a clog or something difficult that
will need a licensed repairman. Start with the simplest possible cause
and work down to the more difficult causes.

How do I reverse the door on a LG washer?
If there is no obvious provision for changing over from left to right or vice-versa then you are stuck with the one direction. You have to remember that the door operates the overall control master switch and therefore there would also have to be facility to relocate the switch and tab if you were to achieve what you are thinking about.
Next time, buy a machine the door of which opens and closes in your most preferred direction.....that's all there is as an alternative.

I would like to remove and clean around the front door seal of my LG WM2277HS front load washer and although it doesn't look that complicated, I'm sure it's not as easy as it looks (nothing ever is). I was looking for a parts list for the machine which usually shows an exploded view but no such luck. Can anyone provide guidance on this?
Thanks,
Dennis
Follow these steps to replace your door
seal:
Disconnect all power to the machine first!!
1 Locate the
outer clamp band securing the seal to the door rim on the washing machine and
examine it carefully for holes or tears. Many can be prised off with a
flat-bladed screwdriver they have a spring system holding them, but some have a
tensioning arrangement that has to be loosened.
2 After
removing the outer
clamp band, locate the inner one securing the seal to the drum and
establish how this is secured. It may be necessary to loosen a clip, or you may
be able to prise the band off with a flat-bladed screwdriver. Some are like
very large Jubilee clips that you have to undo usually from the top.
3 Once the
clamp bands have been removed, use both hands to pull the seal away from the
inner drum rim. Some machines have a water spout holes that will have to be lined
up. Others have a drain holes.
4 Rubbing a
drop of washing up liquid into the groove on the door
seal/gasket that locates on the drum makes fitting the new seal easier.
5 the new washing
machine door seal should be fitted by locating the drain holes at the bottom
of the seal first then push it on with both hands working opposite directions
towards the top. This is quite hard if you have never done it before.
6 refit the
inner band remembering this must be tensioned correctly for it to be water
tight.
7 now fit the
outer band and the test the machine for any leaks,

I've really had no problems with my washer until about a week ago. After a wash load was finished, I noticed that the detergent dispenser was full of water. I emptied it and did several more loads. Each time, at the end of the cycle, the dispenser was full of water. I removed the entire "tray" and cleaned out all of the dispensers for bleach/softener/detergent. Did another load, no water. Next load, it's full of water again. Is there a clog somewhere?
Remove dispencer again, remove conditioner syphon assembly and clean up the little tube. Should then go okay

got an OE error, now it will not finish rinse and spin, sounds like it is grinding in the spin cycle and the timer is stopped at 27 minutes remaining. What is wrong?
The problem is in the drain system as what error code OE stands for.The grinding noise is coming from the drain pump. Loose change, hair pins and the likes can get into the pump filter and sometimes into the pump impeller causing a grinding noise during the spin cycle because the pump works while the machine is spinning. The pump impeller may also be broken causing the grinding noise.
Disconnect power then open the filter door on the bottom left of the cabinet.
Remove the drain plug and drain the water out completely into a shallow basin or the likes. Once drained, lay a piece of towel under the filter then turn the filter knob counterclockwise and remove it. Clean the filter and reach in the pump impeller to check it if blocked or broken. If cleaning the filter does not solve the problem, you need to access the drain pump assembly and check the pump particularly the impeller thoroughly. Click on the link below for the detailed procedure in accessing the drain pump assembly.
