while I sympathize with you, that is the expected life of LG Plasmas they are built to fail. i am surprised that it lasted 2 years beyond the warranty which once said ...For the life of the product" meaning as soon as it died the warranty was concluded.

u need tv remote, with that u can go to the options for ur tv and enable the hdmi allowing ur ps3 to come onto ur tv.

buy a new TV you can GET a TV with the same SPECS. for $500 to $800 Dollars depending on sales so don,t waste your money besides to plasma panel life is only good for five years(24/7) on this model. I have a similar situation and now after reading these post it is just not worth putting money in......

You can check the voltage through the X and Y sustain boards to see which is damaged.

Bythe way.. This is the MOST POPULAR failing part on these TV's... Abovelink has it for $154.99 and the quality and shipping time isoutstanding. Be careful buying from a used dealer or someone not as bigas Discount-Merchant is on parts. You may get a part that lasts 1/2 thetime. These boards are like DLP TV lamps, they have a limited lifetimeand if you buy from the wrong place, you will have to replace it moreoften and it can damage other components when it pops!

To test which board is bad you need a multimeter... then test for the following:

1.disconnect the power board from the y-sustain board.. Check input intopower board (is voltage coming in from the wall?) Next, test forvoltage going out of the power supply.

2. Next test voltagegoing to the Y-SUSTAIN BOARD by having everything connected except thelink between YSUS and XSUS. Check for voltage going into YSUS (if powersupply is putting out, then ysus shoudl be receiving).. Next, test forhigh voltage comming out of the YSUS... keep in mind, xsus isdisconnected.

If you get power comming out of the YSUS, this means your YSUS is GOOD and your XSUS is BAD....

If you get no power comming out of the YSUS this means that the YSUS isBAD.. in this case you need to replace your YSUS, however, you XSUS canalso fail when your YSUS blows out.

In order to test yourXSUS, you can use a multimeter to test breaking in the transistormodule that has the big Black or Silver heatsink on it. You can test itby using a multimeter and applying it to the bottom pins of the board.

I bought one off of somejimmy guy on ebay and it blew in 1 month. I though i was saving myselfmoney but the customer was back and very upset. Be careful!

first thing that you can do is use the Google serch by just typing in lg 50px1d and see if you get any thing close to what you need.

The Z-Sustain board should not have any affect to the colour. Try using your remote control & go into the set up menu & try a factory re-set option. This will take it back to the default settings when it was first left the factory.

try finding board at shopjimmy.com .Part number should be on board itself.Loud pop sounds usually come from YBuffer boards .These boards are inbetween YBoard and panel

The mainboard or the powerboard is damaged and will need to be replaced, in order to know wich one is the one that need to be replaced I need more details. (what does the TV led light and any other details you might noticed).

I also purchased the part and fixed myself. Very easy. Do it!

i believe that this set is built with fans to cool down the inside, check if the fans are running slow, because that could be your problem since you get both sound and picture. i think  that's what it is.

Bad logic board.Always replace this along with y and z sustain boards.On some LG/Zenith sets they come as a replacement part kit.

I have been through the LG TV runaround, and I can tell you that it isn't easy. On the same unit that you are currently working on, the part numbers of the parts you received may or may not be correct. LG (Zenith) uses slightly different parts for the same model, and it really is kind of a gamble on which ones are right. They do not keep track of parts by serial number, and on different TV's of the same model, I have been through 8 control boards (on one set!), 4 sets of X and Y sus boards (on one set), digital boards, and so on and so on. The people are nice in LG's tech services, and they will admit to the fact that it may take several of the same parts to get it right.

My shop has decided not to work on LG or Zenith for this and other reasons. The turnaround time to get a TV back out of the door is ridiculously long because of the wait time with parts going back and forth.

In short, you have the right boards, but they may be the wrong boards. Maddening, isn't it?

Unfortunately damage of this nature is not covered by the manufacturer warranty, however you may be lucky as it does not sound like the plasma panel fractured. Find your nearest LG auth service center and maybe they will find some plug or connector may have have been jarred loose. Good Luck
