Muratec - MFX-1300 Copier Questions & Answers
Please call service
The most likely cause is either the fusing unit located in the right side door (orange in color) or a main motor lock. To determine what the trouble is, you need to enter the maintenance mode. On the control panel, press the "program * 6 keys in order. Press the right arrow key until service mode is displayed and press enter. If the display says heater error you have a bad fusing unit. If it says Rx motor, then the main motor is locking up. Check the drum and toner cartridge for motor lock problems.

Please call for service
If the machine is saying "Please Call Service"..you will have to access the Service Call function to determine the exact problem.
Press PROG,*,6
Press PROG to select "service call" mode, then press ENTER.
The Error Mssge will be displayed.
For example Heater Error, Drum Fuse Error, Inside Fan Error, etc, etc...
**Most common( given m/c age.) would be "Heater Error"...which indicates a problem with the Fuser Unit.....if this is the case you will need to contact local Muratec service for parts.

My copier say open side cover and remove paper
Because it "thinks " there is a piece of paper jammed.
Open the machine make sure there is no jam, take out the paper cassette and check or change the paper for fresh paper...put the cassette back in and try to make a copy again. As a last resort try making a copy with a piece of paper thro the "by-pass" tray and see what happens.

I cannot connect my MFX 1300 printer to my home
Yes...the MFX-1300 was only a copier/fax machine when originally sold, so there was no facility to connect to a P.C.
To connect to a PC there was an Optional Printer Control PCB available.

How do you make two-sided copies?
Afraid this is a "Simplex" machine. To make duplex copies you will have to put paper back in cassette to copy onto second side, and then turn original over on glass or into doc feeder.
