yes their is an internal error. she needs to take the phone back where she purchased it. unfortunatly to solve the problem itself one most unlock the phone and fix the buggs in the programming... this is verry hard and requires tramendous skill... It is recomended that you find a new phone or a really talented asian such as myself who can fix the issue onsite with the phone

Remove the batteries let them discharge over night. Place in chargers for 24 hours. If still static unplug all phones from all jacks. Plug in a phone...a different one from the cordless ones. to make sure the static is not on the line. You can then try to replace the rechargeable batteries or get a new phone.

GENTLY roll your "CLARITY" over and look FIRST for a "PULSE - TONE" slide switch... Failing to find that the ACTUAL model number is going to be YOUR only FREE advice option.
